We had more fans than you when we were in the 3rd tier of English football then you guys could even dream about! We are taking Cucurella so get used to it
Not exactly my response but I have mellowed in my old age.

Trying my best to increase the peace... :-)You were holding back there I could tell. ;)
It’s less protecting your position and more looking like a small time **** tbh.Point I was making is it's easy to slang off another's set up as the poster did to us. And rightly you protect your position, the same as I was ours.
just a bit of peacemaking here if I may...in the 70s/80s Brighton regularely had 33,00 at the goldstone ground. We had more fans than you when we were in the 3rd tier of English football then you guys could even dream about! We are taking Cucurella so get used to it
Not sure that's necessary.
Our ground holds 32000 and is normally sold out. Brighton have always had a good fan base. In the 46 years of supporting them I can assure you the support has always been there, events as well documented nearly saw the club disappear. If it wasn't for direct action of thousands of those supporters the club wouldn't be here.
I will add the club owns its ground and is not a council tenant.
It's easy to slang off other fans and clubs but we all have one real interest and that's our own team. It's not about slapping down other fans for fun. Your fans are living the dream, fortunate that wealthy owners are prepared to pay for your entertainment. We are no less fortunate that a lifelong fan happens to a billionaire. We benefit from the fact he and his family are true fans of the club. Therefore while attempting to run it as business he also has full empathy with the fans.
I fully expect Cucurella to leave us if Bloom believes it is in the best interests of the club and player. I'm certainly not itk and read the same rubbish as most others. Some Brighton fans who have appeared on here have posted crap. One though mentioned "bumping" into Bloom who imparted some sound bite. Possibly he did, as has been posted he and the especially the CEO Paul Barber are well known to be very approachable. In truth what Bloom was supposed to have said is nothing more than an expected answer, certainly nothing new, it will cost a lot to get him.
As of yet there doesn't appear to any credible reports that any official approach has been made. If he does go to you I'll watch with interest his progress.
Obviously you are now in a position of ultimate strength in assembling a squad but those of yesteryear will always remember when you get someone special. Cucurella is that player for us now. While you spend your time enjoying their time with your club you're always aware they are only using you as a stepping stone waiting for their dream move.
Success for a smaller club normally ends up with a rebuild with the best players being picked off by the bigger clubs. The football pyramid relies on it to distribute some

Clearly a South Coast Rag with a comment like that…. Pathetic, inaccurate and disrespectful. It seems like Brighton fans are similar to Villa fans - they come in here craving attention, demanding respect, give it all the big time bollocks but at every turn they just display their utterly small time credentials. You just know if Cucurella joins us - they’ll boo him when he goes back to the Amex.
Raheem Sterling he‘s fourth in the league.
We don't need to defend ourselves here: we are interested in Cucurella and he will come or he won't. Brighton are his club and they accept a bid or they don't.
As for the other stuff, we don't need to get hung up on it: we are the most successful English team of the decade and known as one of Europe's best teams. We are one of the best supported teams in the country, and always have been, despite being a yo-yo club for a good while. It is true that we have had good fortune in our ownership and it is true that they have invested huge sums. It is also true that we are now one of the clubs with more revenue than any other, we are self-funding, and we have a group of clubs that now mean that our sponsorship deals, linked to the wider group, are among the most lucrative in the game. All of this means that top players will now consider playing for us. If Cucurella is one of those, then great, if he isn't we move on.
Every single fan believes, rightly, that their club is special, and it is to all their supporters. Every single club's fans don't like it when their best players leave, but every single club buys players from others and their clubs accept bids; it is the nature of the beast and how the game works. All the insults are just the tribalism of the game and we don't need to get wrapped up in it; we just enjoy the team we have - one of the greatest in the game.
Yeah, what a **** (:Not exactly my response but I have mellowed in my old age.
A great post. Although I liked the rational first 80%, I particularly enjoyed the last paragraphFYI...
We're not "Council Tenants". The Commonwealth games only got the go ahead on the proviso there was a long term stadium tenant insitu post games.
ManUre had Old Toilet & Roger Black campaigned to keep the stadium as a smaller Northern based national athletics stadium.
The stadium was originally designed as an 80000 capacity, all seater stadium with a retractable roof, but the government didn't want to spend the £150m to achieve this, so essentially opted for a stadium of half the capacity minus the roof for £80m. (Don't get me started on the cost of London based Wembley & the Olympic Stadium!) :-|
A deal was struck with City where we would hand over Maine Road & spend £20m redeveloping the City of Manchester Stadium site into a 48000 all seater football stadium. Whether City wanted to buy the stadium or not, we can't until 2102.
Because EU & Central government money was used in the construction of the Stadium, there's a 100 year covenant meaning the stadium can't be sold. City have purchased the surrounding land & built the new training complex, a college & a school & are involved in a joint council project to build thousands of affordable homes in the adjacent area.
Hopefully this will fill in the gaps in your City knowledge, & stop you from being the snide, whining, bitchy little twat you evidently are...
Not for me - they're passionate about their club and love their player, who they don't want to leave. We have been there, that's for sure.It is hard to stop calling these other fans cunts though isn`t it.
Tony Bloom!
As long as you have a betting slip in your handHe’s approachable though, swings and roundabouts
BHA v City season before last was corrupt all right. Attwell that night needs looking at. I know fuck all about cooking, but I know when the chicken tastes right. It was incredible.
They kicked us all over and Attwell allowed it.I agree unbelievable performance from Attwell - I’m convinced he was on the take that night.

The commentary that night was also egging them on
