Very sorry to see him go, but I think it was inevitable given he wasn’t for signing a new contract. Chelsea have themselves an absolute bargain and hopefully he can get them above the rags and dippers (but still below us)

I would like to think Raheem would do a similar goodbye video to Gabby, certainly after seven years with us?

If it's just a token thanks on Twitter, I would be disappointed, as it would just reinforce by belief he didn't really connect with City in his heart?

Hopeful he will gladly prove me wrong, as I really want to believe he loved his time here and will always have affection.
Needy much !

Everyone talking about the sitters he misses, but how many players in the world would make those runs and create a goal-scoring chance in the first place ?

Very underrated baller, worrying part is he's going to a direct title rival. Hope this is not like that RVP saga with Arsenal.
That RVP saga with Arsenal?

Arsenal last won the PL in 2003/4 and RVP signed for United in 2012. Arsenal were already a spent force and them losing RVP didn’t exactly move the balance of power from Arsenal to United.

This has been coming.
It's a moment to set aside the criticism and the accolades, the weighing and sifting, just take our hats off and thank him. He's been a major part of everything that's happened since 2015. And a lot has. I don't think I'm alone in having felt a peculiar protectiveness about him, since I don't think I've ever, in half a century of following football, seen a player take such an inexplicable cartload of shit up and down the country from supporters who had no dog in the fight either way.
I'd rather you'd gone abroad, Raheem, but you're your own man. All the best.
Agree with that, well said mate.

Raheem handled the abuse he received for club and country better than most would, while still playing on top form. That's a great credit to his character and attitude.

He was a great talent, unpredictable at times, but when he runs at defenders there is no one more dangerous, and he has been a huge part of our success.

We're going to miss him more than people think, but good luck to him and thanks for the memories Raheem. I'll give you a loud ovation when we see you again next season.

I know it's not the exact same scenario, but Sterling is still one of the best players in the league whether we rate him or not. He could re-discover his form and hit another level who knows.

Chelsea still a big club, are now on their longest break without winning the title since 03, I'm just worried. They are not a shambles like United or Arsenal, if they make some smart signings this season we could see a title charge.

It's really a big gamble City have taken, would rather see him leave for free to Barca/Madrid.

Hopefully Chelsea will sign the show pony, that would really fuck up their dressing room.

I'm going to miss him. You don't know what you've got till it's gone; it's a tired cliche but I feel it will ring true with Raheem. For all his flaws he has a unique skillset that you could argue nobody else in our team possesses. I said yesterday he leaves a success story and I maintain that view.

But, and this is the bedrock of the whole transfer, I think we'll be fine without him. If I had a billion pound in the bank I'd confidently stake it on us finishing above Chelsea next season. It will be ourselves and Liverpool vying for top spot once again, of that I'm sure.

All the best Raz. You were City's marmite but I was always on the side of love. Here's to proving your doubters wrong in a different shade of blue.

Really? Kane Son Richarlison & Raz would be one of the best front fours in Europe/the world…Chelsea have been throwing hundreds of millions at their forward line for years and it’s still doesn’t function properly, they’re still taking a scattergun approach and when that doesn’t work they’ll resort to Havertz up top & Mount on the left with any one from 6 on the right, adding Ronaldo to that would be beautiful to watch (when it goes wrong)

Every year there is this Spurs hype where they inevitably fail. Remove Kane and Son and you are seeing midtable level quality all around. They struggle against deep blocks when Son can't run into space with no quality in midfield.

Chelsea signing De Ligit, Ronaldo, Raphinha, Sterling would be an unreal window for them. Just seeing them linked with De Jong now.

Needy much !

Would you have not thought it weird if Sergio had not also said his proper goodbyes?

Sterling has been with us seven years and, even at this late stage, it would be nice for him to recap his time and success here.

I'm not saying he won't, but it would be good all the same.

I'm going to miss him. Let's not forget Raheem forced a move from Liverpool because he wanted to join us. That takes balls, and he was 19 at the time. He's taken abuse off the press, opposition supporters and ex professionals yet he leaves us a serial winner.

I hope when he returns he gets the respect he deserves. A massive part of our recent success.

Do you think they are more of a threat with Sterling or when they bought “the missing jigsaw puzzle” Lukaku? I think they’re weaker this season than I thought they were in august of last season.

he is not really a demonstrative type of person though , he was respectful to the dippers and he will to us but it wont be gushing and emotional

Lukaku never did it in this league for a big 6 club.

Can we have a poll to see if fans believe us or Chelsea have got the best of this deal? Most match going fans I speak to think he's regressed in the last 2 seasons and would get rid

So Chelsea would be a threat to us IF they signed De Ligt, Ronaldo, Raphinha, Sterling and De Jong? Just those 5, yes?

Presumably they'd have to sell at least 4 others to make way or are they playing the previous front players in defence given that they don't seem to possess one at the moment?

Why are you so determined to have Chelsea as a title contender?

And?
Do you honestly think City will suffer without Raheem Sterling?
Please answer

This is what Sterling offers, he will drag out defenders, be a nuisance all game, be 1v1 with full-backs, can win us a pen out of nowhere, defenders are always on edge since he will make a run behind. His overall play massively benefits us, other players get more space.

His producitivy drastically reduced when we started playing false 9 system, it took away his main strengths. You can all deny it but fact is he would have had an unreal link-up with Haaland, just like he does with Kane for nat'l team.
