What’s you argument here? The great assist happened and we won the league. If it hadn’t have happened, we may still have won the league. None of us know that answer for sure and will never know.

If it hadn‘t have happened and we hadn’t won the league, we’d still be selling Sterling now.
I don't get why some fans are happy to see the back of him and are dismissive of everything he's done for us. He's been one of our most important players since he arrived and that shouldn't be forgotten quickly.
Yes, 1 year left and a decent fee incoming - doesn't mean he's not leaving big boots for someone to fill.

From The Sun

RAHEEM STERLING has completed his medical and signed for Chelsea, according to reports.

A deal could even be announced as soon as tonight.

It is believed that the Blues will pay £47.5 million rising to £50m in add-ons to secure the services of the England international.

For some, it will be to soften the blow of him not wanting to be here, for others, it’ll be the multitude of chances he missed.

There’s no denying he’s been invaluable for us at times in the past 7 years, but it’s time to move on a say that we’ve all known for ages that Cole Palmer can outstat Raheem…

;-)

Could be PR stuff interviews etc. Still no reason why that should hold City up unless we have agreed with Chelsea not to say.

The time between a player moving Clubs and being officially confirmed does seem to be getting longer these days. To the extent that some of the excitement gets lost. By the time they’re presented it’s like “I thought we had already seen you“

He's likely doing a 'goodbye' interview with our media team and then more media with the Chelsea lot too. Probably takes longer to mess about with media/announcements than it does getting a player signed these days!

Chelsea now have about 7 times the money Abrahamovich has. They're backed by clearlake capital amongst others. My bet is they're trying to finalise Ake at the same time.
That doesn't mean they can spend 7 times what Abrahamovich did or that Silverlake will put a lot of cash in.
