It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

De Ligt is far more physically aggressive than Laporte and Stones, a natural leader, and is five years younger than both of them. The only problem, save the price, is that his arrival would quickly put someone’s nose out of joint because their playing time would go down. It’s a tricky one for the management if Ake goes.
Every time I have watched De Ligt play, he looks slow on the turn. He reminds me of Maguire and would get exposed in the system City play

Leipzig don’t need to sell. No one has put forward a serious offer for him. Also he’s happy at Leipzig. Chelsea apparently offered 55 million and Leipzig laughed at it. Bayern were looking at him in January But nothing came of it. Even though he’s happy he does think if City came calling hed jump at the chance.

If they turned down 55m they’d turn down 60m and we want go higher than that if we were interested

So why none looking to buy him seeing he has all those abilities!?
I read that RB Leipzig would want €70-€80 million to sell Gvardiol this summer, I doubt he's an option, perhaps next year?

Personally I'd be happy with Cucurella coming, if Ake stays fine, if he goes fine, Mbete and Cucu can play LCB we don't necessarily need a replacement. Ake is a decent defender but ball-playing wise he was average, he would suit Chelsea's 343 system better.

I've seen a fair few Chelsea fans on Twitter in despair that them buying Ake from us at a premium price lets us go after other CB options that are supposedly more desirable - I guess Kounde and Gvardiol are those two.

It's just funny to see them pissed off, even if it's only slightly.

Stones has averaged about 18 PL starts per season during his 6 years here. I’m not sure that means he’s clearly first choice.

It’s we’ll known the reasons why though. He clearly had his struggles early on with the system, injuries and personal stuff.

But when he’s on form and fit, Pep uses him as the ball passer.
