It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Excuse my concerns but it's eerily similar to how the Kane talks went and we left it as it is because they wouldn't consider anything under 150m. I think we could very well walk away and have the squad as is.
Well look how the 'Arry situation turned out, we won another title, Arry had a poor season, we saved 100million of the Queens finest and them have just signed the Worlds best young striker for 50m.

Not signing a left back won't show as a weakness against the mid table / bottom table teams next season. But it will show heavily in the Tottenhams, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and top champions league teams games. It will be a glaring hole for top teams to take advantage of. Cancelo is brilliant offensively but average defensively. Ake is decent but doesn't have a lot of pace so a fast winger would expose him again and again.

We cannot go into a seaon with 3 full backs every start of the year weve had 4 full backs (we always expected mendy to play) going into a season with 2 is down right stupid.

Agree with everything you said but we Barely held on to the title. And lost CL and FA.
I agree we shouldn't over pay. We can get decent LB at lower price.

Surely we wouldn't have allowed Zinchenko to go if we werent confident of signing a left back?

Everyone who has left has been replaced. We would be a player short if Zinchenko left so we do need to replace him, whether it's Cucurella or somebody else.

And the entire season a lack of a 9 was our Achilles heel in games where we could have finished off the opposition and especially the CL first leg, fair enough we won the league and I'm grateful for Pep but why risk the situation of being handicapped, might as well be proactive and address it while we're at it.

Just read the Athletic article also stating neither Dias or Laporte are fit and won't be available for the start of season, that's a huge blow as well. So we're incredibly thin for a season that will have around 16-17 games prior to the world cup, all crunched up closely. So while 'he can play there' statements are okay from Pep, we absolutely need another defensive body. Stones Aké Walker and Cancelo seem nailed on starters for season and if Stones who's historically injury prone gets done in, then what? Rodri or Phillips at CB? Maybe Walker? It's really simple, pay what Brighton want, even if it's not justified, but we have to sort it on our end. Our squad cannot be thin at any position given its a world cup year especially. Makeshift options each season have worked but cost us dearly in Europe

Sosa is another one that is a hidden gem. So many times in bundesliga games has he been doubled up on. He's very dangerous and decent at defending, faster than the left backs we have now. His crossing has been a constant threat. Tore Bayerns left hand side apart at Bayerns ground.

Didn't Jack Gaughan mention Sosa in an article recently saying he's our alternative?
