At the end of the day, player value is relative to the clubs involved, the contract and the situation. Nunez is not an £85m player or even close to it after just 1 good season in Portugal, however to Benfica he was worth keeping for no less than that amount. Sterling is worth far more than £45m imo, but with 1 year left and City having a plethora of options in attack, him going for that much isn't a huge shock. Cucurella going for £50m wouldn't surprise anyone, City wouldn't be bending over backwards by paying it especially after the great sales they've had this season. If Pep really wants him because he thinks he fits, I would personally be doing everything I can to build Pep's ideal squad to finally get that Champions League.
