The team we started against the Dippers was easily strong enough to beat them , but we didnt match their determination the Dippers have a real passion about beating teams from Manchester due to thier inferiority complex , lets face it over 25 titles have landed in Manchester in recent years compared to one miserable Covid title for the Dippers.
The Dipshits will always be up for a game versus Manchester but it matters little at the end of every season they always end up the bridesmaids crying into their beer , let them have a couple of weeks of the usual arrogance and delusion we can concentrate on defending our title again.
F*ck the scousers they are little more than an irritant to us , where as we live inside their heads 24/7 , even if they get a couple of draws from us in the league this season they will still fall short over 38 games , and that is why they hate us so much.

Yesterday was all down to match fitness, mentally and physically. They just looked that bit sharper than we did and they had an edge that we didn't have.
Don't worry about it, we'll be singing in May
Kept hearing on commentary Liverpool were much fitter yet it looked like we won most of the 50/50 scrappy balls. Not a pen for me, Dias didn't move hand to ball, was in natural position unless you deem he left his hand hanging til the ball passed. On VAR, ref was never shown full speed from what I saw. Always appears worse in slow-mo. Training sessions might have a bit more intensity now before league starts. If we land Cucurella, I think we'll have the most complete squad we've had. Excited for it all to kick off again

I thought it was a blatent penalty. We'd be livid if it was the other way around and not given to us. Thought we should have had one too though.

I just think they was more match fitter than us, as simple as that mate.

My biggest take away was how foden, Haaland and alverez looked as a front 3.

Thought it was really refreshing to have so much pace and youthfulness.

All 3 are so dynamic, fast and can finish.
Could end up being a really fruitful front 3.
i needed a bit of positivity after yesterday, cheers Mcfc-Carlos for bringing some much required realistic and well founded enthusiasm, roll on next weekend

absolutely bang on the money

Great day and so happy to have football back.

KDB was shocking he didn't find a pass all game.

Haaland hasn't done much training with the other lads and you could tell. He's going to be an handful though and he will score shit loads.

We had our chances and didn't take them whilst they did.

It was our 3rd pre season game the dippers 5th and they play again tonight we'll be absolutely fine :)

Don’t think it’s a mental block but as they say in boxing styles make fights.

Liverpools strengths perfectly exploit our weaknesses, now with Thiago they are able to play through our press better and more efficiently and with salah and Diaz out wide they can counter extremely well. Klopps style of football is basically kryptonite to peps possession based game
That's concerning. We need to find out what flopp's kryptonite is and adjust accordingly against those lot.

Not seen much of Darwin Nunez, but I thought he looked absolutely superb when he came on. Looks hungry and he obviously has a superb physique. Those bastards always seem to get their transfers bang on which is frustrating.

Haaland looked very sluggish and slow, but which other Strikers have got 4 clear cut chances against Van Dijk before? Tells me he anticipates chances arising very well.

We and Haaland will be fine. Once it hits September he will be unstoppable.

Your correct , but they treat our games as a cup final , which is credit to Klippety , but they cant do it over 38 games.
They complain the same about us, though. We're just two very good teams with not a lot to separate us, where even the smallest degree of preparation, as with this or the FA cup game, will impact the game.

Also thought we were the team looking more likely to win when we had equalised. The handball was the changing point. Seems a little strange how their handball didn't even go to VAR.

Far too much being made out by the journalists this morning. Write City and Haaland off at your peril is all I say!

Always the same pattern: dippers start at 150% and aggressive pressure hoping to score and defend the lead.

Although still quite rusty we nearly managed to not concede in the 1st 60 minutes. The goal was lazy defending vs a top side by our whole team and inviting top players to finish is just not acceptable.

After the hour mark dippers always nearly collapse and can't high press anymore. We had more space but didn't take or chances and lost on a stupid penalty (the rule is just nonsense, Pawson didn't have a choice) and on the break.

Next time we'll meet will be different I think.
So no CS then. Good game to watch though and great atmosphere.

I think lazy defending is a bit harsh. We were obviously not match fit. Agree with the rest

From today? Or every season?
That would take a very long time, to show all the penalties City should have awarded in their favour each season that are ignored. Maybe even as long as the time to show all the penalties LiVARpool should have given against them that are ignored. They are very quick to give penalties against City and in favour of LiVARpool though.

Season starts next week not September
