He’ll be playing LCB for them. Not to mention Chilwell has just come back from a long injuryChelsea buying a £50M LB makes zero sense when James & Chilwell are an excellent pair of full-backs and they have so many other issues across the squad.

Yeah 100m+ at minimum because he recently just signed new contract and the player is settled at the club.

It's not my views I am commenting on. I don't like seeing people give snippets of information in good faith and then if it doesn't happen they are then bullied to a point where they no longer contributeGreat idea - a discussion forum only for post event conversation. Every now and then we have an arrogance that the selling club will bow to us etc and it fails? Cucurella will have no problems going to the chavs as he will still get a nice big pay rise, champions league football etc.

Why would he do that?
At the end of the day the lad has done his bit to get a move to us. It’s our side which has let him down if anything.
Now Chelsea have come in and they value him a lot higher than we do.
It will be interesting to see the final fee for him though. If it is a flat £50 million I think we could come to regret missing out of him.
Txiki and the board are true professionals but this isn’t handled very well. Season starts on sunday and we only have two fullbacks. I doubt Pep is very happy about this. There really aren’t many good leftback options out there and this could prove costly. We all saw the ucl final against Chelsea. They won because of a great defense. Koulibaly, Reece, another cb coming in plus Cucurella. One could argue that’s a better defense than the one we have.
