Not just them. A lot of people use their property as savings/pension tooHouse prices need to be lower no doubt...problem is to get there anyone who bought last 5 to 10 years will be screwed
Won’t they be at risk at being bought by foreign income too, creating an even bigger rental market? Not just them. A lot of people use their property as savings/pension too
Then change the laws, don’t allow anyone whether they are companies or individuals to own more than 2 properties, I’d make it one personally but maybe some see as an alternative to a pension. I’m sure this can be done, even if it’s not retrospective because that would be impossible to implement but going forward. Then places where lots have second holiday homes, the Lake District etc locals could maybe afford to live there. City centres would allow people to own apartments rather than rent.Won’t they be at risk at being bought by foreign income too, creating an even bigger rental market?
It’s at odds with the free market philosophy though. Then change the laws, don’t allow anyone whether they are companies or individuals to own more than 2 properties, I’d make it one personally but maybe some see as an alternative to a pension. Reigns in spending, encouraging saving, which stops companies increasing prices. That’s the theory anyway.
just consider this -
Well any responsible leader would be out there reassuring people. Instead Johnson has b.ggered off on holiday....he doesnt give a toss for the plebs...he actually calls us the peasants in privateThe thing is this fucking government don't seem to give an actual fuck about it. It's a 'just buckle up, you'll get over it' attitude. Us plebs are of no consequence.
I can honestly see large civil unrest very shortly
Weren’t shares suspended in EDF two weeks ago after the French govt announced they were fully nationalising the company? You can buy shares in EDF who own it.
It’s clearly not working, listening to the radio since the 1950s there’s been 36 years of Tories and 16 years of Labour and a rec on average every 10 years globally, growth cannot be sustained for ever, so maybe there needs to be a rethink of how the world works. I know a pipe dream but what else do I have! It’s at odds with the free market philosophy though.

Think the Covid outbreak and the war in Ukraine didn't help matters. We knew leaving the EC would take time to adjust to. An absolute shit storm of things that no government could have predicted. The UK was ready for change in 2016.
Sadly, we voted to make things worse, not better.
No, but going it alone made us far more susceptible to global issues and subsequent price spikes.Think the Covid outbreak and the war in Ukraine didn't help matters. We knew leaving the EC would take time to adjust to. An absolute shit storm of things that no government could have predicted.
