Didn't Ederson start as a left back? Explains why we got a new keeper in.

He'll get more assists than TAA and KdB combined if they let him cross the halfway line

I would be astounded if we go in with the squad as it is. Absolutely shocked.

We will still be incredibly light even once a LB is signed, but it at least won't be totally insane.
 
I get trust Pep to do his best but not for a moment do I think Pep thought our squad would look this at kick off. I think he is as puzzled as we are. Anyone remember Soranio saying he thought there might be one incoming a while ago? I wonder what he has made of developments since.

Sure, Torres was let leave in January Mendy taken out the picture in October. But both were still planned for and part of the squad when the window closed, and the club made do with their absences. Going into the season by having to make do from the go by choice when there is money and space there to address it is another thing altogether. Once a LB comes in it shifts that a fair bit. Still bodies down, but if Pep is bolder with the kids (which is a big fucking if), it isn't unmanageable.

No, excluding kids.

There hasn't been a season when we haven't filled the 21 player quota. We generally struggle to fill the other 4 CT which makes 25, but with 21 always filled, we usually go with a 22-23 man squad. Plus kids. In the past, it had actually been a struggle finding room for the 21, if you remember the 'we can just leave carson out' etc discussions.

Currently, we have 18 out if 21, and 1 out of 4. 19 out of 25 in total, but for fairness 19 out of our typical 22, because we haven't gone 25 in years.

That is a squad of 3 down, not just to last year but to any year.

Even with a LB, it will still be a squad of 19 registered. 20 in total including CT.
 
When my Dad used to take me to City when I was little he used to say to me “take your boots just in case they need someone from the stands” He didn’t know it but I used to crap myself as I was only six.

As an adult I’m thinking this might be an option again and I can’t find my boots. If I come on please don’t boo me :-(

Can you tell us which ex player you are nearest to in ability/application? Examples: Dickov, Zabba, Bernie, McPointy ?

The 5 subs is an interesting one. Yku could in theory hope Pep might try manage it in a way to give players rest. Doubt it, but it is there.

As is playing completely unknown and untested kids. In some ways, of Pep actually went and did that, I'd respect it. Again, highly doubt it.
