I love the idea that the father of Brighton's goalkeeping coach would be privy to this information :p
It's the little details in these made up 'in the know' stories that makes them so compelling :)
If I was negotiating a big transfer the first person I would consult would be the goalkeeping coach!

Some Bluemooners really showed themselves up in this thread. Part of a horrible trend towards entitlement and ragism. Was embarrassing to read at some points and the treatment of some visiting Brighton fans was shameful. Blue on Blue abuse is also increasingly evident (really got going on the Grealish transfer thread last year) Not just new posters either.

It wouldn't be that crazy if the player had a bigger upside / higher ceiling. Like Gomez for example.big question now if we are getting a LB that is worse than Cucurella but cheaper...
or we get a LB who is worse than Zinchenko that would be really crazy.

Impossible to corroborate, but if we'd moved swiftly and reasonably, I doubt we'd be paying anything like the reported £63M some on here are wallowing in.Spoke to the father of Brighton's goalkeeping coach yesterday. He said that Brighton were originally holding out for £37m from City when Chelsea came along with a daft offer.

Pleased it's Chelsea that's now ruining football.Stops all the jealous moaners complaining about us for a change. I'm know it's only temporary and it will be us again as soon as the wheels come off for them.

I'm starting to think more and more that we're just gonna go with what we have.I don't think there will be anyone else lined up. Not at the reasonable price we'd want.
Clubs know we're desperate and with the Cucurella fee they'll be asking for the same.
If there's no one else out there we feel can come straight in and be a regular starter like they presumably felt Cucurella could then I think we'll wait until next summer.
Which basically means if Walker gets injured we'd have to move Cancelo or Stones to RB and if Cancelo gets injured (or is needed at RB) then we'd have to move Laporte or Ake to LB.
It's a very risky strategy and heavily reliant on all six of our defenders, especially the two full-backs, remaining relatively injury free for the whole season. With such a small squad, we'd have no choice but to play the likes of Mbete, Wilson-Esbrand and Palmer in the cups to avoid a potential injury crisis.
I still think we should add at least one more though.
