Who should we sign at left back?

Very frustrating that we aren't signing a senior left back.

We're leaving Pep short in his final season and I can't see us competing on all fronts with this squad as it is.

Not signing a senior LB AND pep leaving at the end of the season?! How did you come across such information?
 
I think it’s telling that Pep wants forward thinking players to play at fullback given Cruyff‘s ethos.

We aren’t signing an actual fullback whilst Pep is still here.

It sounds like Walker was a fluke!

He's just said we aren't signing a senior LB and we're in the final year of his contract.

Not much inside information required.
 
We're seriously handicapping ourselves. It's a huge risk we don't need to take. I don't see a reason not to bring one in, we've got the money, space and the need, not every signing needs to be a perfect fit with a 10 year plan. A senior stop gap who you wouldn't be bricking it if they had to play at Anfield because one of our 2 fullbacks is unavailable for a year or so is fine.

2 options and 2 completely unproven kids for 2 positions is not adequate options for a team that's going to be playing 50-60 games in a season with almost all of them must wins and even less so when we've got an international tournament in the middle of it all to deal with.
 
I am excited to see what Gomez and Wilson-Esbrand bring, and especially Rico Lewis, who I hope gets his chance as he is a huge talent, IMO.

There are no decisions without risk and if we have made the decision to give those academy players a genuine chance of game time, and they get it, I will be delighted.

I was considering the opinion of others and asking myself who Liverpool's back up full-backs are, and I didn't have a clue. I suggest they are not well known, not world-class, and may be completely unproven. I know they will be world-class the moment they play but I am not interested in what Jurgen says!

They don’t really have a backup right back and seem to either play Gomes or Milner, left back they have tsimikas who seems a decent backup option.

So really they have 3 fullbacks and some other players who can cover the positions.

Possibly the most negative post of the year. Turns out Pep extends, Cancelo and Gomez rip up the league and city go on to win PL and CL titles in a historic season

They bought a back up right back this summer
 
Happy tbh as we needed a left back and signed Gomez and we gave also got two academy kids now given a chance so we will be ok now . Can’t let silva go though .
 
Honestly never had a clue on this one, so I didn’t vote. Most of the foreign names I don’t know anything about and didn’t fancy most of the premier based ones. I suppose the only one I definitely fancied was Cucurella, JWE can’t be ready or we’d have gone with him. Good luck Sergio, if you’re 20% as good as the last one, you’ll be alright.
