Mike MacDonald who owned Texas (the DIY chain, not the state in America) had a go. Ended up buying Sheffield United
Swales would of demanded the main stand be refurbished and painted in the deal plus a seat on the Texas board.

How did he get on there in the end? Would he of done a job here do we think?
He would have made a good job of being a football club chairman had it not been for his main career as front man of the Doobie Brothers !!Mike MacDonald who owned Texas (the DIY chain, not the state in America) had a go. Ended up buying Sheffield United
This is why I can't take utd fans or until recently Arsenal fans rioting against their owners. They don't have a scooby about incompetent ownership of the club. This is so true. Nobody can foresee the future but myself along with probably many other Blues thought we would die without ever seeing us win another trophy. What we have achieved since 2008 has been beyond our wildest dreams. That doesn't absolve Swales and his cronies for putting us through 35 barren years, devoid of success and any hope it would get any better. We can look back on those years now with blue tinted spectacles but boy were they grim. They were so bad many wanted a parade for winning the league two play off final, it really was that bad!
His heart was not in the right place at all.
He was a vain, arrogant, egotistical, stupid, insecure **** who completely lacked vision or judgement, possessed zero self-awareness or critical thinking skills and was completely oblivious to his own manifest and profound limitations.
Like many self made men, he made the mistake of thinking thst because he spotted a commercial opportunity at some point in time that gave him a level of commercial success, that it simply followed that he was a good businessman, rather than someone who was in the right place at the right time many years before.
This arrogance, delusion and lack of honest self-appraisal are not the hallmarks of someone whose heart was in the right place.
hope the link works…
Stadia Catering who supplied the gruel and pigswill served up at Maine Road was owned by Stoke’s owners the Coates family before they hit it big with Bet365When you watch this you just wonder, I was always brought to believe that City didn't even own the souvenir shop, the catering was owned by some outside firm that didn't put money in the City bank? How did that happen? Yet he wants to own everything with the City crest/badge? Seems that an awful lot of money never came into the club for many years
So maybe some of that money ended up in brown paper parcels and was sent back up the m6??????? Just saying in jest of course hahahaStadia Catering who supplied the gruel and pigswill served up at Maine Road was owned by Stoke’s owners the Coates family before they hit it big with Bet365
Peter Coates was a pal of Swales

I think that was Franny LeeA bit that got me was him talking about people living off the back of City , ie food vendors and scarf sellers around the ground and how the club needs to control its image. But wasn't he the one the sold the copyright of the club badge off ?
I thought it was Swales that sold it to the guy running the souvenir shop and thats why Franny Lee came up with the new Eagle Badge ?I think that was Franny Lee
