When you post hyperbole, you invite hyperbole of the opposite opinion.wow.
All of the transfers in have been an upgrade on the outgoing player and for minimal cost. That's how you run a football club.Steffan (loaned out) to Ortega
Jesus to Haaland
Sterling to Alvarez
Fernandinho to Phillips
Zinchenko to Gomez
And that's not including Torres who we had at the start of last season.
If we lose Bernardo, tough not to agree with @Bill that'll we'll be weaker.
I already thought we needed 2 players more without losing anyone this summer. At the moment we're hoping Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis, Wilson-Esbrand and Luke Mbete are those players to step up.
Anyway 3 years left on his contract, Bernardo is a £110m player minimum.
They aren’t proven upgrades though. They may well have a higher potential ceiling, but as of now, we are at the mercy of Pep training the new players to be as good and hopefully then better than their predecessors. All of the transfers in have been an upgrade on the outgoing player and for minimal cost. Not sure why it's a bad thing to be putting trust in the likes of Lewis and Mbete, supremely talented players that dominate their own leagues. We are due a generation of stars capable of playing at the highest level.
Wouldn't surprise me of there's some sort of "business arrangement" between Barca and PSG. Probably highly illegal but it's not us doing it so no fucks given by UEFA. The same sort of deal the dippers have with "red bull" teams.Look, I understand if he wants to go to Barcelona seeing as its his boyhood club and the proximity to family/weather, but PSG would irk me. I don't know if the reports are accurate but if they are he just wants out and doesn't care much where then I don't see this ending well.
Nobody is a proven upgrade until they are given a chance. Jesus had the same if not less experience than Alvarez, Zinchenko was a nobody compared with Gomez. Philips, Ortega and Haaland are proven top level players. They aren’t proven upgrades though. I doubt Gomez for Zinchenko was part of our initial plans.
Hmm, whilst I get your point, incomings have to be of the highest potential to replace anyone in our squad.Nobody is a proven upgrade until they are given a chance. Gomez probably wasn't part of the plans but when Zinchenko asked to go we moved swiftly

Some players need a new challenge from time to time.If he wants PSG he just obviously wanted a change of scenery full stop and any big side from the top European leagues would do
Yeh it isn't meant as a criticism tbh. He was willing to go to athletic or Milan last year also so it's obviously not just barca or stay. Some players need a new challenge from time to time.
HahaSomeone needs to tell him if he's worried living in the UK is affecting his relationship with his fiancee; she's not the one.
I don't doubt there is a bid or that he would be happy going though, which would mean Castles is correct. Castles isn't saying he's going to leave though, which is what Soriano has said in effect so both can be believedWho do you believe? City CEO Soriano, or the Times and a nomark Rag Journalist(?), who needs clicks.
FFS, come on everyone!
Everything you suggest is plausible, yet could be nonsense too!I am wondering now if the following situation is playing out.
City want to keep Berny for another season.
However we have an agreement with Bern that if the valuation is met he can go.
If Barca can sell DeJong they will come for Berny and he will go.
If a deal is struck to sell Dejong then we will then match it in the knowledge that Berny will be off.
We won't do a deal with Barca unless a sale of DeJong to another club is agreed.
