It was interesting watching the Txiki/Omar chat in the Champions Again episode recently where they say some opportunities are too good to turn down somethings - hence why we got Alvarez in January.

Maybe this is another one of those opportunities? A proven centre-back with Champions League and international experience playing in one of Europe's top leagues at one of the top clubs on the cheap because his deal runs out next Summer.
 
hes that kind of cb that always has an error on him, and is a bit soft - thats why dortmund brought two new center backs. as a 5th option hes ok i guess

More experienced than our current EDS defender to be honest and not a complete piss take in valuation.
 
Didnt the buswreckers buy someone short term from Schalke Ozan Kabak (or similar) for cover at centre back. Hope to god hes better than him.

(no reason to think he wouldnt be, but it does whiff a little bit about plugging gaps)
