Couldn't happen at a worse time, logistically.
Yes, it happens so often that a wife/husband doesnt last long after the death of their long time partner. Its kind of poeticThe loss of Philip, which has been repeated in a great deal of successful marriages, left her without the rock she’s relied on for 70 odd years, it’s no surprise…
I’m certainly no monarchist but she deserves respect!
You can literally die of a broken heart and i think that is what happens , seen it a lotYes, it happens so often that a wife/husband doesnt last long after the death of their long time partner. Its kind of poetic
Who said anything about shut down?Although I agree with you, I read earlier that these plans are reviewed and updated upto 3 times a year. 12 days of complete shut down does seem way ott in this day & age though.
That was truly a monumental moment in the history of both islands. And perhaps him too. Not all would agree, I’m sure.
There was nothing abusive about his post. Disrespectful? Quite possibly. And I see he has since apologised for it. But it wasn't in breach of the rules. That post i reported and responded to has no place in this thread
I’m sure his tie has a tint of navy blue to it? Guess it’s the nearest possible and most respectful alternative to full black at the present moment if soDermot already has his black suit and tie on :(
So has the signer on BBC News. Think it's more a mark of respect at the moment although it means they can continue broadcasting if she passes on whilst they are on air as I think protocol dictates that all broadcasters wear black. ITV not sure how long their scheduling will change once the announcement comes, might be just 24 hours could be a lot longer.Dermot already has his black suit and tie on :(
She hasnt died as the flag has not been lowered

Or it just hasn’t been announced yet. They might be waiting for a certain time to pronounce it like 6 pmShe hasnt died as the flag has not been lowered
That is sad , it is horrible to see it happenHappened to my Nanna after being married to my Grandad for 58 years.
I posted a link above detailing what to expect. It is anticipated that flags will be lowered over key buildings 10 minutes after she is pronounced dead.Or it just hasn’t been announced yet. They might be waiting for a certain time to pronounce it like 6 pm
Lowering the flag is ceremonial Kaz, looking at the BBC coverage it seems they know something we don't.
Sad sad day indeed.
