Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

It's out and out propaganda, if we knew the real costs of the Royalty people would rise up in a second.

How much will the next 10 days cost the tax payer alone?
Class warriors might be upset but nobody who understands how the economy works would rise up. Hundreds of thousands possibly millions of people will descend upon London for the period of mourning and the funeral. That boosts the economy. The Queen’s death and a new King ascending to the throne will provoke a resultant large spike in tourism which again boosts the economy

I've found a Forbes article and it doesn't state anything close to 19 billion. Best I can find is hundreds of millions a year, which is vague and nowhere near that.
Yeah I cant find the report. Here's a report about the report though.

Nonetheless, even the report you quoted said just the royal wedding brought into the country 300,00 new visitors.

And hundreds of millions per year... Just ditch that? Nah, our royal family are worth quite a lot to Britain in finances and prestige. ( am not a royalist, or love them, not a mourner, or a ****).

For example (From Forbes): The impact the royal family has on the U.K. economy is mostly through tourism, but Haigh notes there are other financial benefits, such as free media coverage of Britain (which was an estimated $400 million in 2017). There are also many valuable royal warrants granted by the monarch—essentially a stamp of approval on high-end consumer products like Barbour jackets and Johnnie Walker whisky. Haigh estimates that a royal warrant can boost the holder’s revenue by as much as 10%. The economic advantages for companies and institutions in the royal family’s orbit far exceed the $550 million cost associated with the family’s massive operating expenses, according to Haigh.

Funny those that are slagging off those accurately slating the decision to cancel the games are posting on here not moarning

I heard that reason the football was cancelled was because the Met need all the police available and couldn't do the football grounds in London at the same time.

Also spoke to a scouser in the pub last night, a decent bloke to be fair who is a ST holder. He said he was glad that football was cancelled this weekend as the knobheads at Anfield would have booed and embarrassed the club and authorities. He thought that may have been a reason aswell.

Perhaps the authorities need a geography lesson.

Simple solution. Let one half act how they want, the other how they want. Difference is only one half is being told to change their routines for the other.

This is the conversation that keeps going round in circles.

@twosips and co “I’m not that upset by this, I don’t want to grieve, people should have the option of carrying on as normal if they want”

@kaz7, @Gorton_Tubster and co. “Yeah but it means a lot to me and others so you should all have to do what we want and cancel football, have all tv and radio channels dedicated to 24 hour coverage of the queen”

It’s been confirmed this is not true, which is one of the reasons all other sport is continuing.

Next weekend there may be policing issues but with the funeral now on Monday they’re hoping not.

Take it all the moaners on here won't be taking the bank holiday off , as it against their principals thought NOT
Are you a practising Christian?
If not will you be taking the Christmas and Easter holidays?
