10 years since Killie managed to win it...and with a home tie against Dundee Utd in the QF there's a decent chance of a first Hampden trip since.

Hearts got really unlucky with a couple of injuries on Sunday which wouldn't have helped their case tonight, but then that was a heavily rotated killie team at least in front of the defence.
With so many injuries and European football crowding the calendar, I suspect the management at Tynecastle isn’t overly perturbed about going out.

Kilmarnock drew with Dundee United when the season opened and they don’t meet again in the League until after the QF; question then of whether the new manager, whoever they appoint, can revive their form before they meet.

Big game at the weekend and nobody mentioned it? I will then. What a performance and what a team. A certain party back in the box. Be there a right while me thinks.

3/0 away win for Hearts at Motherwell.
Last 20 mins was the Craig Gordon show as Motherwell had non stop pressure but nothing to show for it
Great win.

Craig Gordon been an excellent keeper over the years. Celtic were mad to get rid considering the dross they replaced him with. A bit of a gap emerging between the bottom clubs now...sadly :(

Oh dear.

Saw the clip last night and it doesn't look good.

Club seem to be taking the appropriate action at this time, we need to confirm that the video is a) genuine, ie hasn't been dubbed or modified in any way and b) recent as in whilst contracted by Kilmarnock.

If it proves to be both genuine and recent then I hope we sack him, thankfully that seems to be the majority opinion other than a few who don't see the issue with it.

Oh dear.
Heard about this and saw the video before it hit the news
One of my friends cousins was in the group of lads who took the video
It’s definitely recent, it was taken on Tuesday evening

Did Lafferty stay upright or fall over?..

Don't get me wrong, it's becoming quite a knobish trend to try and get a rise out of footballers rather than just leaving them alone. I've seen similar videos with Troy Deeney I think it was and another one with Scott Brown recently. Brown handles his well and walks away, which is what Lafferty should have done. Even if he just called the guy a prick, I don't think many people would have disagreed, but it's depressing that particular retort was his 'go to'.

Sack him for what ? You don’t even know the meaning of the word. Away and google it….

Ack he gives it out on the pitch and takes it, a total wind up merchant - the type of player you like if he's in your team and working to great effect but hate if he's in the opposition.

He's actually been good for the club until this point- he's engaged well with fans and the community. Happy to stop for pictures with kids etc, turned up to some local clubs training sessions of his own accord - but probably completely blown that now. Perhaps a public apology and an education course? Not sure where it goes tbh.

I agree
And then the first thing they do when they do get a rise out of them is run to social media to try to get them sacked

Not that I’m condoning using sectarian language, it’s just sad the way the world is at the minute
Everything videoed

Surprise surprise, Thornlies defending it
If you know the meaning of the word, you would know it’s not sectarian. An insult yes, but sectarian no.
Celtic fans describe themselves as ‘ Fenians ‘, but once again everybody is jumping the gun creaming themselves they’ve outed a ‘ bigot ‘.
Grow up lads.

Having grown up in the north of Ireland I think I know the meaning of it.
It’s deemed as offensive and sectarian here.
The green brigade know may describe themselves as it, but as I said earlier in the week, they see the troubles and singing about the IRA as a bit of craic. They know fuck all about it really.

But it’s not just the Green Brigade. Long before they ever showed up, the Celtic support used to sing ‘ roamin in the gloamin with St.Patrick’s fenian band ‘.
Lafferty was stupid enough to make the remark, but in modern day one way street Scotland, it’s basically a hanging offence now

I’m sure if James McClean called a group of people a pack of orange bastards in a Dublin bar you’d be rushing to his defence as much also
PS not sure what the obsession with Celtic is in this story

The difference with that scenario is he wouldn’t be facing any possible sanctions.
I’m neither defending or criticising Lafferty. Merely pointing out the hypocrisy and double standards.
The same people calling him out had no such outrage whatsoever over the abuse heaped on Queen Elizabeth by football fans in Scotland.
Hypocrites one and all.
