The Conservative Party

Nobody from govt. bothered to turn up on Newsnight.
They’re all on BBC1 Nolan Live explaining the Protocol to Northern Irish people and helping get the Assembly back up and running.

No wait. I’m wrong. They’re not there either.
Simon Coveney is there trying his level best to talk sense into the DUP head beside him though.
A business man there being raided for importing from England (sort of). Simon trying to tell them that no meaningful negotiation has been forthcoming from the British government with the EU although the door has been left open for them.
DUP saying this has nothing to do with Brexit. Really? The Protocol? Has nothing to do with Brexit.?

Election coming in December.
I’ve no idea what that’ll solve if they still don’t sit in the Assembly.

Any way sorry. No Tories on BBC1 either.

Fuck me even John McDonnell humiliating Philp on Peston now - saying he feels sorry for him that he has been sent out by a PM and Chancellor who are too scared to do the job themselves and that all he is repeating are the arguments from Friday that caused this mess and he has not been given any answers - Truss really can be Continuity Johnson as long as she has fools like Philp who are prepared to make themselves look stupid when defending her on TV

even friendly papers can't defend what is being called this Trusster Fuck

The telegraph one is quite mad, look at the top strap line compared to the main headline. Does the editor have it in for that journalist or something?

The UK was under the remit of the EMA at the time of the vaccine rollout. You are referring to the EU procurement scheme.

Johnson reneged on promises to share the AZ vaccine, after the EU provided vaccines for the UK initial rollout. This caused the initial shortfall in Europe, but that was resolved by the second quarter.

The final upshot to all this was AZ pissed off the EU and they in turn gave preference to other vaccines which pretty much scuppered AZ and the vaccine. The EU is one of the biggest medical regulators and exporters in the world, so giving the UK a preferential contract was not the brightest decision.

Most European countries caught up, and some overtook, the UK on the vaccine rollout despite our head start.
A preferential contract with the UK when they had a contract with the EU that said they didn't have any preferential contracts with anyone else.

Staggering that the government are going to try and stick with the same plan. I genuinely think they could be gone in a week or two.

watching Philp on Peston - awful - he has just memorised a Truss/Kwarteng bingo card and thinks repeating them it will be an answer
Just seen it and you do have to think why somebody would make such a **** of themselves unless there was a shit load of dirty money in it for them.

Then see Sky News and even that botox faced Tory apologist can’t defend what’s happened as he‘ll be seen as an absolute idiot rather than a Tory idiot.

But remember Chippy was saying that a fall from 1.08 against the Dollar to 1.05 then back up to 1.08 was no worry when it was actually a 2% devaluation in our currency overnight but overlooks the 30% devaluation since January - the Tories have spent most of the year doing nothing except defending Johnson and being asleep at the wheel has cost you and me

I’m more worried by the wolf that has been cloned by the Chinese.

Presumably Friday’s headline will be about how we’re going to be overrun by them if we get rid of Liz Truss.

I’m not going to have a go at Chippy as he is in a downward spiral of trying to defend this chaotic plan, not against anybody on this board, but against the main global experts who have stated that this is disaster economics.

You do make a good point in that the government have been asleep at the wheel and have prioritised protectionism instead of real policies. I do wonder if this is another one that was there to distract and went horribly wrong as they had no understanding of what the consequences were.

In any case, the damage has been done which will affect many of us, our children, and possibly grandchildren, for years to come.

Depressing.

On an upward spiral, at least people are waking up to what is going on and will take things into their own hands by at least trying to rid of this government.

Yeah - poor Chippy has been like the expansive opening batsman over the last few days - forced to defend his wicket as his team collapses around them - he occasionally has a waft at a loose ball and get the odd boundary but even as he keeps his wicket he is well aware as his team doesn't the run rate gets ever higher and defeat is inevitable. Its now just whether they will bat their overs out and lose by runs or get skittled out with overs to spare - he will carry his bat but for 30 runs having faced 160 balls in 50 overs will it have been worth it and will he deliver a hair dryer moment to his team in the privacy of the changing room?

I couldn't help but laugh when I heard a few letters had gone into the 1922 committee to replace Truss. This must be a world record of some sorts.

Lilico outing himself as a Tory **** and like most of them a fake Christian

At least he’s an honest twat ;)

So it isn’t or shouldn’t be a surprise that he said it. They’re all driven by fear. Fear of losing, giving up their place at the top. They know that in the U.K., with the infrastructure, policies, media and the general personality of the country all geared around hierarchy, the only way for social mobility and for the wealth gap to close is for people at the top to move down. They won’t allow it. They want a tiered society with cheap public services for the masses and those that can afford it to pay a premium for premium care. They don’t want equality, they vote for the status quo.

Many of them quite like the chaos too, the kind who worship Mystic Moggs old prophecies.

Has he been emboldened by what has gone on before because nobody, but nobody, would come out with such terms as to say I don’t give a fuck about the poor, they are better off dead in my reality.

So, who does he care about and what is the level that he is willing to throe off a cliff?
