Holidays

I thought I would hate it there but found it quite uplifting. The parade at the end of the day particularly. My daughter was about 6 and was completely mesmerised by it.
I thought it would be the worst holiday ever. I loved it seeing my boys enjoying themseves so much. Out the hotel at 8am and not getting back in until after the firework display gone midnight. I loved it. I thought it would not be for me but it was.

Tired feet at the end of the day that’s for sure. The on-site hotel we were in was quite a trek!

I went cheap as chips cost me about £1250 for 4 nights. There was a bus that took you to the park and back. Sante fe I think it was called the hotel was themed about Disney cars.
My boys did not care they loved it. There were more expensive options but for a family of 4 it was great and well worth it.

April for cherry blossom, October for less crowds, decent weather, cheaper time of year.

Avoid Summer. Remember that 40c Monday we had a few weeks ago, yeah, they have weeks of that.

Currently looking at October next year just waiting for the end of this month beginning of next so I can look/book the flights. Wanted to do April but the flights are nearly a grand dearer than they should be.

What’s the nightlife like mate? I’ve heard it’s pretty decent

Pretty wild. Definitely something for everybody. Just like anywhere you have to be a careful and have your wits about you in some places. Shinjuku has some great places but you can easily find yourself in the red light area that is still heavily controlled by organised crime. Make sure you're not on your own, don't get dragged into anywhere by anybody off the street. Take cash out with you or a prepaid card. Leave proper cards at your hotel. Locals either like foreigners or really, really don't. But they have signs before you go in whether you are welcome or not.

Stick to the main areas and you'll be absolutely sound. Some of the best food in the world, and it's pretty cheap. Some absolutely insane sights and sounds. Just be prepared to be overwhelmed by its size and how busy it is. Makes Times Square look like Piccadilly Gardens.

I love Skiathos I always stay at the Atrium in Agia Paraskevi
I was there in Sept very nice . The town is amazing I love the Windmill and there are so many nice restaurants
We stayed way up a hill in agia. Zorbas.

Skiathos town is lovely. I liked the bar on the steps but got bit to fuckery by the mozzers.

Looking for a bit of advice and opinion here. I have 2 sets of kids from 2 marriages. Older son (33) is in Brisbane Australia, and has a 3 bedroom house with a partner and no kids. Self employed builder with a decent income. Younger Daughter (19 and single) is going to Canada to work for 9 months from January to September. My wife has set aside a few grand for me to travel. The original plan was for me to go to Aus in March, but Canada is tempting....what do you guys think ?

3 days in Bologna in November with a day and night in Florence thrown in. Flights and 4 star digs for £170 all in.
