Rishi Sunak

Ok fair enough, think we have been making the same point.

It looks as tho if he did bend the truth or rewrite history as they say, he did so because he was losing badly to Truss and was clutching at straws.

Agreed, in hindsight it’s a shame the conservative membership didn’t listen to where he clearly did speak some sense about her economic plan.

I think it’s now just a case of wait and see what happens. Personally I think it’s way too soon for him to be in the role he’s in now and I’ve got a lot of concerns but the next 12 months are going to be brutal whoever is in charge. Going to be very interesting to see his cabinet choices.

For the country’s sake, got to hope he does well though and the conservatives don’t have their own internal factions creating an additional shitshow yet again.

I do hope Rishi Sunak gives Kwasi Kwatang a significant job in the next cabinet (not chancellor but something important). It was disgraceful how Liz Truss basically sacked the guy for doing what she asked and did so to try and save her own arse. Which then didn't work!

As much as it was disgraceful she didn’t leave at the same time, why on earth would you want him to have a significant job in the next cabinet because of it?!

There should be absolutely no chance of that happening whatsoever.

I'm no tory but I'm glad that he's in and not Johnson, or the humourless Penny from Mordor.
I think he'll struggle to keep the natives united within the party, so we'll see what the next few months bring. I think he'll be too smart for Starmer, and he'll find the usual ways to bang the patriotic drum, so as to dog whistle the uneducated turkeys who voted to have a Brexit Christmas ad infinitum.

You’re a fucking nut job.

He can make a few early wins that would then give him time to try and turn things around. Firstly, windfall the energy giants, just as Labour have said. Ensure those on benefits have an uplift as per the directive and ensure the richest people and corporations pay their fair share.

If he lumps on the middle to low ground, after what Truss did, then he’ll be digging his own grave and enrage an already under fire electorate.

Tiny man.

Wrong way of looking at it for me. He should only be given a roll if, and only if he is the best candidate.

Dishing out top jobs on sentiment doesn't go well as we have recently witnessed.

I'm not a Tory but i'm just going to enjoy us as a country not looking and acting like fools for a while. If I could offer Rishi one piece of advice it would be to sleep with one eye open. I'm counting down to a General Election and hoping things have not gotten drastically worse.
You need to define "while"

Wes Streeting (Labour) just made a very good point on Newsnight: he doesn't share the same political beliefs as Rishi Sunak, but many young kids all around the UK will now see that the person running the country looks the same as them and that is a good thing.

Especially if he doesn't fcuk it up! (Streeting didn't say that, I did).
