Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Can work really start next year. Concerts already announced next year and the weekend have just been added today. Staging is at the North Stand so surely to much to have two building sites with ongoing construction and staging for gigs too?
Would summer 24 not be more likely?
Ground works from this summer, then the expansion itself will take place (next summer?).

Why can’t they just put stages at the other end. Doubt the concerts next summer will impact any works, which would just be groundworks.

If anything ground works being at the North Stand end makes it easier for concerts. There won’t be the thousands of fans going in through the turnstiles there since that end is where the stage is.

In the more difficult scenario they had ground works going on in summer 2014 at the South Stand end when thousands of fans were filing in for One Direction.

The North Stand end can also be accessed via the access tunnel which is how many performers and their gear arrive at the stadium.

Nothing to stop them starting after the concerts anyway if they need to. The concerts aren’t going on ALL summer unless we’re having matches called off all through August for them. Potentially a likely scenario - starting after the concerts not cancelling matches :)

The concerts usually use the area behind the north stand as well as the actual stand. It feasible they move this further out but I'd guess more likely the ground works start later.

Understand that they are hoping to finish within 3 years

It is intended that this will be available for use on match days when the venue does not have an event.
That is why I was saying about extending the CITY plaza as you could walk over Forge Lane Bridge into the new area instead of a car park or wasteland all the other bars are inside COOP live

'.... both sides of the bar during fine weather....' hope they have lots of WD40, because the doors will be open for the first 2 games of the season and the last.

I'll be dead by the time they put up some genuine cold/rain covering for drinking eating on matchdays. I hope all you bastards enjoy yourselves.

@HelloCity & @blueyorkie The reason for drawing the City Plaza as a big area was to take in footfall from the arena which if you look at the top of the picture there is a bridge that leads to the arena along with Joe Mercer Way. That is why I have placed the club shop and the museum next to AT Way. I have also placed the hotel and office building, pubs and restaurants at the old casino site as that leave a decent size car park outside it that could be used seven days a week with entry via Gibbon Street

So after reading all the recent posts and ideas I’ve put them together and here’s what I’ve come up with.
Looking down on that picture, where you have NS extension correct, then visualise the two white roofs of the bars becoming a hotel on one side and shop, museum & offices on the other Which will both be part of the extended north stand then the area where the store is will become the fans plaza which will be completely covered by a roof between the hotel and office structures, topped off with a roof top bar. Main construction due to begin 2024 after the new Everton stadium is completed.

Isn’t that ‘wasteland’ where the hotel and offices will be?

What if copied what they are doing at the COOP live with canal-type seating on the side of the canal so fans could have somewhere to sit before games

I would extend the City Plaza and link it up with new hotel , club shop and other leisure facilities that could run along from the COOP Live to the Nexen Bridge

After concerts and football games people could stay at the onsite faclities like resturants and bars this would help the traffic at side also having a hotel there would massively help footfall for both venues

Look at the footfall at the COOP live
