FA confirm Southgate will stay on until after Euro 2024 (p 101)

Good for the brand. Sponsors love him. Media love him. Opposition teams love him.

The FA needs to make England a fucking horrible team to have to face. All that talent, all that experience… but we’re a bloody easy afternoon out for most quality teams. If the FA wanted England to be winners - rather than just good eggs - they’d hire a winner.

But they got their guy. Rinse, repeat. See you in 18 months, dumped out of the Euros knockouts, by the first decent team England face.
Next England manager will be a non binary, mixed race wheelchair user doing the job part time because the stress of a full time role is an attack on his/her/ she/he's basic human rights

Do it alongside running the BBC too!

That’s a lie though or just being disingenuous …

Kane turn in the area, one on one with Lloris, tight angle, great save.

Kane long range shot, good save from Lloris

Bellingham powerful hit outside area, top save from Lloris pushing it over bar

Foden corner, whipped in well, Lloris scrambles and misses, Maguire headed back that very nearly falls for rice to put into empty net. But Lloris fortunate it landed back to him on the floor.

Free kick whipped in, Maguire unmarked, good header that clips the post

Kane shot that ballooned over the crossbar from the penalty spot

Rashford free kick right at the end, hitting the roof of the net. Very close.

There was some more half chances,
Fair play but France had the air of stepping up when they needed to, scoring brilliant goals from open play and then saying here you go have the ball we don't care.

When that pen was missed England went to pieces with a manager who had no idea what to do.

Foden barely got a kick and was desperate for the ball whole game that never came.

Sideways, backwards passing by Slabhead, Stones and Henderson makes it appear we had control but we didn't.
I'm not really arsed but guys like you should be looking forward to an England final yet the fraud that is Southgate does not have the ability to get a result.

His team selection his heavily PR based, who is a good news story gets a game.

Honestly, the only Club teams regularly mentioned during England commentary were yes you guessed it, Rags & Dippers.

Protect the brand don't make waves and keep the cash rolling in, that is his remit!

He's a C**t for pretending to consider his future spouting all the off field stuff has an impact but then deciding to stay (if he does).

An honourable man would've resigned straight away or said I'm ready for the challenge and we'll do better next time etc. He did neither but is now reacting to all the possible replacement names being banded about which he knows will be far more popular him.

Can't say fairer than that. Like I said, it'd have been a travesty if this clown would have conned this over the line. Good luck Julian for today.

I really do think that many English football fans and media suffer from what I call "Emperor's New Clothes Syndrome" when it comes to some players and managers....... Rashford, Southgate, Shilton and Carrick fall into this category IMO.

Utter madness. He’s had one of the best England squads for years & he’s failed.

I’m amazed people think he’s done well, the talent of the players have got him to the heights we have had not his tactics or style.

He’s a safe bet for the fa & he knows he’s not getting a top job so he was always going to stay.

He’s a nice guy but he won’t take this squad on any further as he’s not brave enough or tactically aware

The FA are awarding incompetence. I also think the main factor is there's nobody else out there for the job. Potter and Howe quite rightly aren't going to leave club football.

The fact he got it after failing in his only club job means that we have many that are suited.

Imagine the reason Gerard & Lampard aren’t favourites is because they’ve both been recently sacked yet both have better CVs than this fraud.

& no I’m not recommending those 2 I’m just saying they are eliminated despite a better record. Bizarre.

Unless the FA take seriously the fact that winning games and competition is the reason for sports existence, then why should clubs release players for England duty ? It doesn't help the clubs, and it doesnt help the few genuinely talented players that are in the England set up . If the FA can't take it seriously then why should we ?

Maybe by 2024, Rice will have learnt to play a forward pass, and Bellingham will be the complete runner and fuck all else, so he can fully take Henderson's place - assuming the latter is no longer being picked. Mind you, Bellingham will still have youth on his side, only being 17.
And then again, we can look forward to lots more of Mason Mount in a regular starting place.
I'll stop there - you get my drift - before depression sets in.

If you gave him a squad containing Pele, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maradona, Zidane etc. He'd fuck it up. Out of his depth in a puddle. Wouldn't get a job with a championship club. Wondering if I'll get to see us lift a trophy in my lifetime, doubtful.

He’d drop Beckenbauer for Maguire & Maradona for Henderson……
