Holidays

I'd love some tips on things to do in Berlin. My oldest looks like going on a college trip for a month there to take some history classes and I think my wife and I will tag along for a week and a half or so. Considering staying there or more likely splitting time between Berlin and either Hamburg, Vienna/Salzburg, or maybe Prague (though I've heard it's a zoo in the summer). This would be in July. Ive been to Hamburg and both cities in Austria but was either working or very young, so pretty much open to anything.

@KnaresboroughBlue can give you some tips for Prague.

And you can watch my video that I filmed back in September (when it was nice and quiet):-

Been to Berlin many times one of my favourite European cities it has everything . Best place to stay is the district of Mitte (Spittlemrkt) by far . Lots of well priced high standard hotels , bar’s restaurants and lovely Bavarian buildings and culture plus all the sightseeing Berlin is famous for within walking distance. Also the river spree and its canal systems run through the district , awesome city !

Anyone got any tips for securing flight deals with British Airways? Preferably for Spring.

They claim to have December and January sales, but I've noticed flight prices have actually increased over the last few weeks.

That's a great video Rob. Did you do one for Seville?
Thanks, Barcon. My eldest daughter does all the editing and a lot of the scripts, I'm just the ugly mug who fronts the videos!

Yes, we did one for Seville, I've included the link below. However, bear in mind that this was made nearly five years ago before we were consciously making the videos for the channel.

Seville was our first city break and still our favourite.

Thanks mate, I'll watch that now. Hopefully we will go there within the next couple of years.
P.S, you covered a few things that we missed in Prague. We'll have to go back ; )

We fancy Lake garda this year any recommendations, is it best to book flights and hotel separately or use tui ect, need a car because I like to travel around and see some new places.

Looking for a cheap(ish) and cheerful week to the canaries in February.

Going to Turkey at the end of May and got a week booked to Kefalonia early September.

That'll be it for breaks abroad, will have at least a couple of long weekend breaks in the U.K too.
We are in Playa Blanca Lanzarote currently. Weather is perfect a nice 23 degrees every day. Typing this on my lounger on the beach. Highly recommended

Today is Sunshine Saturday, the busiest day of the year for holiday bookings and it is expected to the busiest ever despite the economic forecast.

Agreed. I'm waiting it out until next month to book my March holiday. Could end up seeing myself off but have noticed a massive spike in flight prices the last 2 weeks.

There are no real tips, just book whenever the price is agreeable with you.
Often better to book as far ahead as possible, generally speaking, and BA sell their flights 355 days ahead of time so Spring 2023 has been on sale for a long time.

Regardless of any advertised sales, flights usually follow a pattern of getting more expensive the closer you get to departure, so thats why the costs will have increased in recent weeks as Spring edges ever closer.

Does anyone think 7 nights in Santorini is worth the holiday length sacrifice over 12 nights in places like Portugal, Spain, Corfu or the Canary Islands? Late August as well. It’s too expensive for the same length. Would be in Kamari most likely so not in the main touristy bit with the views.

We are going to Turkey in October family holiday, the wife booked it a year in advance all inclusive £3300, same holiday now is £5500! For 7 nights outrageous.
