I can only call it as I saw it, & what I can recall is Ferguson asking how could ManUre miss X amount of PL matches, play in this competition & the FA Cup & be expected to play in the CL too.

Something had to give & it's UK football who seemed to prioritise that tournament over the FA Cup. Don't blame ManUre. Blame the money-grabbing football authorities.

How many managers (including Pep) are constantly lamenting about the amount of football, players are expected to play. It's too much & too many players are suffering burnout & injuries as a result.

That’s how Imremember it, but I also seem to remember it was around the time of the world cup bid and the FA didn’t want to rock the FIFA boat by not sending a team to the club competition.

Seems like we are resting our key players like KDB and Haaland today. Makes little to no sense to me, Southampton on Wednesday is a much easier fixture than Chelsea and is being played just 3 days before the derby. Would have made a lot more sense to rest some players in that game imo, especially considering I also rate the FA Cup higher than Carabao Cup. But we should win today either way :)
