United (A) | Post Match Thread

I’ve just watched the replay of their first goal and (I know this is unpopular view) as far as I am concerned there was nothing wrong with. Rashford didn’t ”interfer”. The two City defenders closest to the ball didnt stop or noticeably slow down as others on here have suggested.
how about eddy looking at rashford about to shoot?

Did pep really just say hes not bothered about cup & prem league ??

That will fill players with confidence pep.

We had the game controlled for 35 mins of the second half but we only created one chance that Jack put away. I thought they created more. I am annoyed that both Malacia and fernandes ran around fouling at will. Bernardo should have taken there player out on the right that led up to the goal as apparently that was allowed.
What did they create? Rashford FH and that's it. And that one was due to Ederson mistake. Nothing else. We cobtrolled the game and we were better, but some people here will moan about anything. This is a hard match, ofc we won't destroy them easily

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. BUT...we also create way too many issues for ourselves with over comitting when in a lead. Fullbacks fly forward making rash decisions.

Ederson is a passer of the ball and nothing more imo.

Four reasons for loosing against the rags: 1. The refereeing was totally disaster. 2. Akanji should not stop running for the first goal and should have stopped the second cause he just stopped and let that cross reached to Rashford to score the second goal. 3. Our goalkeeper Ederson as always was not available. 4. Pep game plan after our first goal should have changed to ensure the win.

Thought we weren't bad today. Good to see Cancelo turned up, Jack scored and I wouldn't fault anyone for effort.

A real pattern emerging though where we need to score 2 to stand a chance of winning. That's okay when you are making 20+ chances in a game like we used to, but we aren't. Hopefully, Pep can turn it round soon because we're being dragged into a top 4 dog-fight.

Managed to blow that with 12 minutes left, this of you who go on about the "we will win the league because we've done it 4 times in the last 5 seasons" crap need to realise that this is not that team....it's a team that is 4/5 players changed from last season and it has won nothing.
Poor game management after we scored
Their first goal is an utter farce but we couldn't even hang on for a draw....
Akanji is a carthorse of a defender, no pace whatsoever
Bernardo Silva had another miserable performance but never gets much jip
Ederson - miserable performance in a big match yet again...what was he doing for their 1st goal???? look at where he is when the ball goes past him
Something is wrong with us at the moment
Is your glass always half empty? Something is seriously wrong with us at the moment. It’s a lot of our so called miserable ,depressing fans who all call Pep out. The most successful manager we’ve ever had. The man that has changed English football. The best football I’ve ever seen from the Manchester City team. We can’t beat everybody so suck it up. Also, our home ground where the fans always leave so early en masse walkout. That’s disgusting as well as no passion from the fans at home where we are so so quite.. very embarrassing support. This team very passionate just like our manager and our owners.that hurt me today. I hate losing derbys.

I’m not thinking I’m wrong about being a worse side when Haaland plays
He does absolutely fuck all, that extra option of a pass for our midfield has gone and it’s glaringly obvious
Whole system has been thrown off
Needs sorting out quickly
It was always going to take a full season for the team to fully click with Haaland. Early performances had been encouraging (including the 6-3) but there were signs of not being fully cohesive.

Regardless of their ridiculous first goal we are not good enough this season. Rashford had 2 easy chances in the first half.

We are too slow, too predictable and lack leaders on the pitch.

Too reliant on KDB and too many are not contributing enough (Foden and Bernardo). Plus playing settled back four may help.

And there Haaland. No fault of his but it’s not working with him post World Cup and the team is suffering. Don’t know what the solution is.
