Julián needs no lessons on first touch, I believe.

exactly his first touch is very good. not sure what the other posters are thinking. he just takes the wrong touch sometimes like trying to put the ball on the opposite foot and run away with it, not thinking how physical the defenders are in the PL compared to other leagues. he gets eased out of the ball physically a little bit easily. needs to develop his core strength like aguero who was impossible to shake off the ball.

Each player has his strengths and weaknesses, i really don't understand the constant need to compare them.

Needs to find some consistently now but that only comes with regularly games and will be get that?

needs to be patient. will take a year for pep to trust him fully every week. in the meantime he can keep improving certain parts of his game.

Down the line he has to be part of the future starting attack (players under 30), this would me a great 5 man attack in the future:

ST - Haaland

LW - Grealish -------> Grealish and Foden interchange at will
LAM - Foden
RAM - Alvarez ---------> Mostly a central player, but can go wide to cross to let Palmer cut inside,
RW - Palmer Wouldn't rotate as much as other side I assume

DM - Rodri

LB - Ake
LCB - Dias
RCB - Stones
RB - Lewis ------> Lewis tucking in to make a 3241 attack, or overlap against low blacks to make a 3151 attack

Patience as you said is required. Pep is in the process of building a new 11. It will take time to make the change from false 9.

Bloke still uses slip briefs in 2023 ×D
Have we had @kaz7 ’s official verdict on how he compares to Merlin In terms of physical attributes?

Like palmer and he has done great to get were he has but I don’t think he will ever be a go to player for us .

He is the SPARK PLUG that makes this team run at the moment.

We had almost nothing happening till he came on and then out of nowhere, bang hit the post and it created a goal.

He needs to be playing with Haaland and should be in our first team. They complement each other very well!
