This isn't meant as a dig at two ex-players who were brilliant for us but how many times over the last few seasons did we see Sterling or Jesus find a way to mess up a situation like that. He's obviously got a long way to go to have the sort of career those two have had but it's great to have a player you feel confident will score in a 1v1 situation.

Alvarez is the sort of player that would thrive in a high tempo team. City keep it controlled so he’ll eventually adapt to that. However, he’s always making runs, he has an eye for a pass to, quiet unselfish.

He’ll do fine. A dogged player who will give everything while on the pitch. We just need to be patient with his down times. He’s still new to everything City.

Still 7 goals+assists in just over 700 minutes. Given that two of his full matches were the game with 10 men against Copenhagen, and Dortmund away, both games where everyone was happy at the end with a 0-0, that's a pretty good start.

He's got that Tevez energy and Aguero finishing. Not a bad mix.

I think it’s the way he finishes on the run without really breaking stride that makes him look so Aguero-ey

Very good start indeed. Really like him as a player. As people have pointed out, a mix between Tevez and Aguero

Credit where it’s due he took his goal superbly to round off a good display. Fulham have a very porous defence, I think it’d be a good shout to keep him in the team

Ran his arse off, constantly made excellent runs first half that were ignored every single time. Takes a great attitude to not get disheartened by that and carry on. Pressed constantly, forced so many turnovers, lovely bit of play for Lewis' goal, excellent tenacity for mahrez's goal and a very calm and well taken finish from a kdb silver service. Deserved that.

Once this lad settles in properly and really feels like he belongs we will have a gem. Want to see him given more chances out wide when Haaland is fit, I think he can do what jesus did for us out there, his energy, movement and pressing could be a refreshing alternative to our static wingers.

I’m sure if he played more he would be more consistent. Personally I would play him in games at home against lesser teams
