The first job of a FB is to defend, Cancelo is not capable of that.

I 100% agree with this. He is a very cultured footballer, but I don’t think I ever saw him stop a cross, and forget a 50/50 tackle. He was a match of the day player, great in a highlight package, but he cost us plenty of goals as well. Throw in the petulance and it is time to get rid.

Show some respect for probably our player of the season, I was not a Ake fan but he has been superb this season and is a better defender anyday of the week and twice on a Sunday than Cancelo

It was not meant to sounds disparaging to Aké in any way.

My point was players don't have "natural positions" and Aké is performing excellently in that position.

I am of the same opinion. Players have skillsets, not natural positions.

I honestly think his bridges at the club have been well and truly disintegrated with a flame thrower. If he's trying to backtrack in any way now, I think he's deluded if he thinks it will make a difference down the line.
