Gomez cost what 11m, Angelino 12m sold for 18? There not lots of examples of signing a ‘back up’ full back but 40m is a crazy number.

40 mil is standard for a young PL experienced defender from a mid/lower table team with good potential. all those gomez angelino are risky bets that blow up in your face and lead you nowhere
I just think it's too much for a player with a lot of work to do and we should focus elsewhere.

He was one of the best left backs in world football in 2020-2021. Shown by his involvement in the UEFA team of the season that year.
ACL Injuries are tricky, but with modern science and his young age (26) he should be fine come next season.
Not unusual to see hamstring injuries fester when a player comes back from a long term ACL type injury...but it should subside with time. We could possibly get a top player at his position for a reduced price.
If he is a garbage footballer, then please show me a list of realistic left back options for us this summer that are better then him...because I'm all ears.
Ilkay suffering an ACL around the same age playing for us, and his ability to bounce back (after a hamstring injury post ACL recovery) is a good example of how Ben Chilwell could be fine for many years to come.

Wingers? We'll play the attacking midfielders there. Midfield - more attacking midfielders. Fullbacks? No. Supporting defensive midfielders - that's one fullback and one central midfielder. Defense - One central midfielder, one fullback, one centre half.
