Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Every one and their brother just signed someone quality on loan or spend to fill gaps. We ditch a player who had been key to our attack and try to plug him with a kid not to mention no signings of anyone who could step into the team. Said here before of late but it feels like the beginning of a shite few seasons until we make some paradigm changes.

Ball back and forth, accept a pass stop ball tap pass to the side... Stand over ball roll ball to other foot, short aimless pass with no attacking intent: repeat repeat repeat... no service not urgency no grit no heart no leadership on the pitch. Lose ball... look like chickens with heads cut off trying to scramble to avoid conceding.
Pep today looked checked out... almost comically do with that last Grealish play where Pep was reacting.

Something has to give.

Our genius tactic made Spud's rubbish defence looked like a great wall.
I often wonder how we prepare for this in training because we don't have a clue come matchday when we have to try and break a team down.

We set up the same way in our last 3 games and won them all. The 2 games we lost before that, we set up differently.

We played badly. That's it. Pep didn't even tinker, he kept the defence as similar as possible with Stones out injured. Dias cannot play wide like Stones does. He picked Alvarez over De Bruyne because De Bruyne has been really poor, and was again when he came on.

Would I like to see the likes of Dias, Laporte, KDB starting? Yes. But I don't watch them train, and I don't have experience of winning more titles than any other living manager.

I hope Spurs and today’s referee are proud of themselves when they see Arsenal’s title Winning bus parade snaking up the seven sisters rd

Pep has had another shocker today, and most City fans were calling it before kick off!

The shocker is that Pep still persists with Rico in the starting XI. Most fans won't admit it, though.

This Rico experiment is gifting Arsenal the title. Our build up play with him and Ake is miles off from what it was with Laporte and Cancelo.

Rico is a great talent, no doubt, and hopefully will be good enough to play at top, top level in 2-3 years.

Benching Walker and Cancelo for him was a big mistake, though. It doesn't work and it won't work (this season).

That pissed me off more than an of the other result this season. From the baffling lack of Dias and Laporte, to the ludicrous decision to bench our best player. From the far too much responsibility too soon on Lewis to yet another shit the bed moment that leads to a goal. From our inability to feed Haaland to another abject final third performance.
6 points against the Arse is now a must, anything less and the league is theirs, and they arent even very good. One thing they do have though is consistency in their starting 11, which includes their best players, something thats a distant memory for us at the moment.

I’m sure Pep will come out with his usual bollocks of we controlled the game they only had one chance bla bla bla. I’ll put my house on it
Loads on here criticising all the players - then they blame Pep.

I agree with the media & other club’s fans - some city fans are just shit

Will say as well to caveat my previous posts it’s worth noting spurs were very good today. They are set up perfectly to exploit our weaknesses. I don’t actually think we played awful today by any stretch

The whole set up stinks to high heaven at the moment. Major shit going on behind the scenes and the players seem to be doing their best to throw Pep under the bus. Debruyne? What the fuck was he playing at in the last seconds? Face like a smacked arse all game on the bench then strolled around like a peacock when he came on. Only Jacko going forward can hold his head up today. I'm usually a glass half full kind of guy, but fucking hell, if anybody thinks we're gonna win the league with that set up is very much mistaken. There's a cancer within that squad right now, and it's spreading. Absolutely fucking gutted! Goodnight world! :(
We only actually got some control when KDB came on and started to pin them back. Too many second rate players playing each week for us with the actual characters/ prem winners on the bench.
