Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

If you thought the matchday thread was bad…. Some right over reactions in this thread…. calling out the squad, Pep etc…. When did we become so self entitled. We lost a game today… we will probably lose the league this season…. But throwing the baby out with the bath water will solve nothing. We need a planned and methodical overhaul of a tired squad…. I personally think the present ownership and management have earned the right….

The term 'flogging a dead horse' springs to mind.

The best coach in the world can't work out how to use the best striker in the world...

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and accept that change is the best option.

I can sense a huge transfer spend in the summer. Clear out of at least 4 players. I’d predict a 250m net spend.
If we keep looking into the bargain bins for players, then the team will regress further next season. It feels to me City are scared of the repercussions if we spend big. Chelsea don’t care and neither should City.
We certainly need 2 ultra quick and direct wingers. Grealish could move more central like he played for Villa. Foden more central too. Mahrez is a great player, but I would offload him in the summer and cash in on him whilst we can.
Mahrez, Bernado, Ederson, Phillips,Gundoghan and Gomez to be unloaded.
Incoming 2 wingers, at least 1 creative midfielder 2 left wing backs and a World Class GK. Throw everything we have financially over a 5 year contract so we can amortise 50m a season.
Pep is the big conundrum. I’d be one for keeping him but I’d understand any of you who thinks he has served his time and run out of ideas.
nobody is coming here to be benched or play out of position .

Haaland is a great player but Pep knew Kane was the better player to fit the team and tactics. The board wouldn’t pay the fee, but payed £100 million for Grealish.
Levy set a price that he knew we wouldn't pay... I'm glad we didn't pay it but they do say you reap what you sew...

I like Haaland but we have to change our model totally to accommodate him

I think there is a problem in the dressing room
We have the best striker in the world the runs he makes are brilliant
I notice today when Bernie broke the lines haaland made a run the ball was on he check back and played a square ball
And like graham said on sky sports what is the point if you don't feed him
Am I wrong but we do not look the side we were
Is pep tinkering with his power to show player's I am the boss
Or has 7 years with this team we need a change discuss

Foden got sick in the hotel, and even before that it was clear his mind hasn’t been fully focused on football lately. Cancelo left because he has an awful attitude when he’s not playing and that has nothing to do with Pep (Also Cancelo has played more mins than any of our defenders this season)

The coach is the one who trains the players and sees things you and I do not. He’s pretty good at reading body language, and what people ignore is that Cancelo was playing awfully as well

I asked you who you would prefer to replace the best manager this club will ever have because you clearly think his qualities are not the best for the job.
At some point I'd be happy with Vinny... I had hoped that it would be Arteta but not sure about that ATM

A clear message to the board today with Pep putting Lewis at left back, it screamed of why the fuck didn't you get me a proper left back in this window.

The fact when we play to supply haaland we score. The issue is why do we have games where we don’t supply him the ball.. we have proven already this season we can and know how to play with him in the team.
Because when he doesnt dmscore as you say he is not provided the ball. I totally agree, but..but, but , but ..he is only givenbthe balk when we play teams who b atrme too lazy to stop the supply, can't fked.closing down. Play an organised team v US we are F'KED

Anyone who thinks Haaland is the problem needs sectioning. The midfield is the problem and the chopping and changing of the back four
Bang on this. League is as good as gone now in my eyes, so for better or worse now he needs to pick a preferred back 4 and hopefully that can help us in the cups. I'd consider giving Ortega a run too, not as good as Eddie with his feet, but for me is a better shot stopper. I love Gundo, been a great servant but times time his lack of pace has caught up with him and when he was coming on at the end it felt all Meh for me. Start the Argentinian kid Perrone involved. Lastly I can't get my head round people saying Haaland is a problem, or more specifically people saying playing with a 9 is the problem. Last season I watched us a few times in games constantly crows the ball into the box to no one, this season we get to the edge if the 18 yard box and go back and sideways. Big summer ahead

I'm going to make a controversial statement that might upset some of you.

*2nd place would be a good season for this current side.*

We're miles off looking like a team which could win the title. Too many top players aren't in the lineup due to lack of form, injuries or Pep being pissed off with them. To make things worse, Pep is trying to make some tactical changes to best make use of the players he does want to play and they're not working.

To be honest, I have no idea how we're even 2nd. We're absolutely way off it. Can you imagine how shite Liverpool and Chelsea must be? Even the rags, people keep going on about how well they're doing and their fans are buzzing. They're still below us.
I don’t disagree with that.

I’ve said in the Pep thread, I think our current side would lose to our 2012, 2014, and 2018 and 2019 teams. I think that 2017-18 team would beat our current side about 4-0.

We aren’t as good as we were and 2nd would be a good season for this team.

Does anyone know what is happening with foden. The last few games he has played he’s been off the pace.Is it a mental thing as,things are a bit too quite for my liking

We were our own worst enemies today, playing ok and we give away a really stupid, cheap goal again.

That causes us to lose our cool, pushing too hard making us lose control of the game and leaving us vulnerable on the counter. Spurs lapped that up throwing in the shithousery of time wasting, feigning injury ably assisted by that **** Madley.

On another day it would be a draw, a bit of moaning about the performance but would be assessed as a decent point on a bogey ground.

I’ve been trying to keep positive but that’s another performance where we don’t look like ourselves. It suggests that there are things going on behind the scenes that need fixed.

Final point, absolutely criminal yet again that we’ve had a game where there are zero decent balls or crosses for Haaland, beggars belief that we’ve not solved that problem a bit better in the big games away from home.

It's embarassing, it's like 4 PL in five years and many more titles is gone like that. The achievement this team over the year is forgotten because just one fucking game.

If we didn't win any title this season so what, we do it again next season. It's not the end of fucking world.
One game? You don't help your cause criticising others when you come out with utter shite like that. Are people over reacting? Maybe. Are supporters a tad annoyed? Some Yes. Will things be said that later seem a bit silly? Yes.

Yet you have managed to outdo them all with the daftest post on the thread.

One game? Forgotten the achievements? Hahahaha pmsl.
