Why I'm giving up on football, City and Bluemoon

I hate these fucking slack bastards for making a long serving fan pack it in, it's not on and i know where OP is coming from it does grind you down.
But...City needs us and we must answer the call with gusto, up the fucking blues.
Is the correct answer

There is nothing on earth like us.

If City are relegated or stripped off titles, then that's the end of Premier League for me. Back to Euros, World Cups and interesting CL knockout games.

When you have enough posts mr Bluemoon for 20 years you can start your own.
We’ve crossed paths before Mr Jonny come lately, member since 2021 ;)

When I have enough posts I won’t be asking everyone to beg me to stay on a forum, I claim to not want to be on anymore. I’ll bet anything that this poster and yesterdays won’t disappear

I've contemplated it a few times... I don't find football no where near as fun any more... I thought that was an age thing (similar age to the original poster) but the constant duplicity of the media and governing bodies, the absolute farce that VAR, being treated like a revenue stream by the clubs, but the last to be thought of when it comes to the media/authorities and generally the match day experience is no where close to where it was...I enjoy away days (the few I can get on) as I think it has the tantalising reminiscence of being what it was like years ago. I think I would feel the same being a fan of any club as the away day experience at other grounds has been equally sanitised for home supporters (Celtic away in CL a few years ago aside).

I will be damned if I turned my back now... no matter what.. this is the point of time our club needs us and the next generation of fans need us... I won't let the cretins, sycophants, and out and out cheating cartel drive me out on their terms... I'll tune out of the phone-in shows, select the threads I read and chose to respond to carefully and listen to balanced podcasts and the rest I'll make up and judge in my own head... I'll own the narative not them

So this is my last post. 55 years after my first match seeing City. 10 years a season ticket holder 1985 to 1995 until work and family took me too far away. I was there in 2012 and was there for that Tuart goal. Been to many but not all recent cup finals.
I have been vocal about VAR, CAS and FFP.
So, today I have decided I have fallen out of love with this game, the trolls on this forum and the corruption hiding in plain sight both financial and governance. Refereeing and game manipulation and arguing the toss with morons and hypocrites.
My passion has faded with each passing year of vested interest interference, press compliance and journalistic spite.
And, yes, VAR has killed my excitement. Thank God we didn't have to wait for it in 2012. A moment that will never be repeated again in football history.
In truth, this has been coming for a while. I will sign off and find a new passion. City are not to blame. I watched football for the fun and passion. I now know more about global politics, financial compliance and sports governance than I do about our own under 18s. Something has gone drastically wrong with the game.
Our own forum has also become raggish and dipperish, misogynistic and trolled by posters who don't even support the club... And then the fans who love certain players rather than the club. Yes I'm old and I won't be missed but I already feel better letting go. Good luck fighting the good but ultimately doomed battle.
Thanks City for the best and worst times of my life but life is too short.
Don’t give up mate. Small excerpt from a famous speech below to keep us going.

And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

No doubt we have crossed paths.

Let’s see if you have the balls to tell us your past username(s)?

We aren't making it any easier to stay interested with our horizontal, methodical play style....

Oh, you didn't...

I gave up my season ticket after the super league debacle. I know everyone on here gave our owners a free pass, but for me that was the moment we became ‘one of them’. The moment I saw a quote from Glazer on our website, I knew things wouldn’t be the same for me. That’s not club I grew up supporting.

I’m still a city fan. I still get nervous before games and celebrate when we score. But it’s just a bit of entertainment for me now.

Football is corrupt and driven by money. And we’re right in the middle of it. To think otherwise is completely foolish.

Totally get where the OP is coming from. i nearly fucked it all off a few years ago due to extortionate wages ,ticket prices , tourist glory hunter fans , bent refereeing , VAR etc but my kids wanted to come to the games and they were to young to come by themselves ....now they are older and can go on thier own im not sure what i will do after having a season ticket for 35 years.
if we get found not guilty how do we trust the premier league again?
found guilty then we are fucked anyway ?
either way i think we are the on the way to a super league..

I keep going through phases of thinking fuck it...whats the point but then i think no....im not going to let the cartel win

Don’t do it. I love this place. When the fuckers commentating, the fuckers in the press and the fuckers on the radio get me down, I come on here.

We have a nucleus of hardcore city on here, admittedly it’s been diluted over the years with the new breed of football manager fans, but we are all city at the end of the day.

I’ve mellowed over the years, days gone by if we lost I was unapproachable for days. It got me hard. Still does tbh but an hour on here is my pressure release.

We can’t afford to lose supporters like you, so re-think and keep posting.

City is in our blood, don’t fight it ;)

I nearly forgot….up the fucking blues!

I’m slowly going down this road myself. No matter what the outcome is our club will never be the same again or respected around the world ever. On a personal level there’s one thing for sure I will always have fond memories of my childhood idolizing Rodney Marsh, Tueart, Bell, and Mike Summerbee. Those were some of the best days of following City.
