PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Sometimes less is more. The less we give the more the accusers have to justify.

Ultimately no-one will ever fully know the business model that city uses unless they share it but why would they? How many businesses provide more than what they are legally obligated to provide? City haven't been charged by any authority for any crime except for those levelled by the clowns in the Premier League.

You have to remember that the Premier League oversaw wild spending in the past and did nothing, think Wimbledon, Leeds, Portsmouth etc. It's not hard to argue that the Premier League should be investigating its own role in its ability to police club finances.
If they had added something like "We can assure our fans that we are completely innocent of all charges and your unwaivering support will be behind us all the way as we fight this injustice".

Why do we need this to go to court?

If we have done nothing wrong it should be a fairly quick and easy case to conclude in our favor.
come on no nowt jorden just said city's only tactic is to drag it out as long as possible thats why it's taken4 years to get to this point

As a general rule in English law, courts will strike down contracts, even if freely entered into, if they are unfair or contrary to public policy. See George Eastham and several pop music business cases, for example.
Courts would not, for example, enforce a contact that required someone to break the law, or not enter into a marriage.
Come on, lets be serious. No court will strike down the agreement between MCFC and the PL. These are sophisticated parties with huge legal resources agreeing objectively reasonable clauses.

Anyone think the premier league may offer us a settlement

It’s too late for a settlement since we’re now at war. It was a Cold War for years but now we’ve seen a fully blown escalation of the conflict. Regardless of what happens, the future of the Premier League won’t ever be the same again. The events which are about to unfold will be told in documentaries, have their own Wikipedia page and just generally be documented in the history of English and perhaps European football.

Not only do we have to ultimately win, we have to make sure that there’s no comeback. We have to finish this once and for all so that we don't find ourselves in the same position later down the line.

I feel so upset and fucked off about it all kaz
I only go for the memory of my dad who passed 5 years ago but do you know what I'm done with it all now it's exhausting
Maybe that's what they wanted all along
Cunts
Dont give in blue , we need to stick together , what would your dad tell you to do ?

CAS was different I can't be arsed searching but both 'sides' could [ick one panel member & had to both agree the other.

Hence, it was always going to be a 2-1 scoreline.
Yes the UEFA pick was Ulrich Haas based in Zurich Switzerland who has a regular gig as their choice on CAS tribunals.

More than likely.

A deal will be struck. There are so many bodies buried by the PL, they won't want a protracted shit show. They've been threatened into this by, a. The two clubs who constantly want more for themselves, up to and including leaving for the ESL, and b. Stocking the PL hierarchy with their own people to push for it. It could utterly end the PL could this. And, c. The PL shitting itself because the government are so unhappy with their so obviously corrupt self-regulation that they have gone as far as a White Paper...due to be published this week, how oddly coincidental.

Absolute horse shit.

Woke up this morning and felt a need to write something as a life long Manchester City fan. So much negativity around the club that I love and have watched since 1968.

It has been said in the media world that the truth should never get in the way of a good story. Over the course of my life, 60 years this far, I have seen this to be self evident in many many situations, both sporting and non.

Their job is to sell newspapers, get clicks and stir the pot. It has always been so. It may feel different in this scenario because they are going after our beloved Manchester City but we have been here before and won. .

We know what it feels like to be fucked. To feel like it has all gone tits up.

Halifax in the Cup.
Luton and David Pleat.
Ricky Villa.
Years and years of spankings by the different red shirts. Knowing we were shit and still showing up. We were there, somewhere, having our own experience of being City.

We know what it feels like.

Unlike all of our antagonists, who have dined for a long time at the top table. Who gorged themselves on a cycle of unfettered success. Unchallenged because of the hegemony they created.
They became complacent and stuffed full of themselves and their self important shite. Corrupt and bloated to the core.

They do not know how it feels to lose.

So when we kicked the door down, because it was the only way in, and brought a level of competition they could not live with, they did not have the spine for the fight. None of them. They tried to meet us on the pitch and failed. They tried through UEFA to knock us out and they failed again. So now they resort to the only weapon they have left. Old money. Old power. Friends in high places. The real corruption. Hidden in plain sight.

But they have picked a fight with a club who know how to scrap. We know the pain of losing big and we know how to come back from that.

Dropping 2 divisions.
Dark days and grim gallows humour. That place somewhere in the old ridings where 300,000 of us watched on in the shadows
Then Gillingham. A moment when the future looked so bleak that people walked away from Wembley , muttering "fucking typical City," only to be drawn back by a miracle.
Imagine that we had lost. I did. And I knew we would still be here come the next season.
QPR. Dead and buried. To make matters worse the old enemy winning it all. Again. Not in my lifetime. You think? Another miracle. A big fuck off metaphorical wink from Mario.

Champions.

Only this.

Just the beginning.

This club, players, management and of course us, the supporters, do not ever lie down. This too I have witnessed. Time and time again. We are City.
It is not even about the winning for me. When you have lost so many times you understand the balance of all things more deeply. You know you can always lose and it makes the joy of winning something our red friends will never ever get to experience.

The day Sergio scored was the loudest noise I ever heard in a football ground and I knew why. That banner. That sanctimonious, rub it in our faces spineless bunch of toss perpetrated by the prawn sandwich brigade. The old money. They never saw it coming. Noisy neighbours indeed.

I understood completely and more than ever before what it meant to be a Manchester City fan.
We can lose this current fight and we will still be here. That's what makes us a fucker to fight with. We don't know when we are beaten.

We're Man City.

We'll fight to the end.
I won’t ever see a more heartfelt post. Not in my lifetime!
Superb passion for City.

NO !!
I expect City to go in "balls deep" and make a mockery of the PL after years of threatening behaviour of said organisation.
Lets kick arse good and proper.
Khaldoon rules OK.

I would love this, but in reality it just won't happen.
I hate to say it, but I will take getting out of this in the same division and solvent.
I fear the fuckers have got us. Whatever the outcome I will still be there cheering us on.

Oh right , thanks , i can see them taking titles off us or what is the point of it all, they must know we will bounce back even if relegated
For me this is the absolute worst case scenario, even to the extent that stripping of titles is preferable.

We are, according to our latest accounts, the club with highest turnover (£600m+) in the world. Yet we made just £40m profit on that figure. If we get relegated and lose Prem TV money, as well as CL money, we are royally fucked and a fire-sale will ensue. I think best case in this scenario is it takes years for us to come back to anything like our current level and even that would take a whole lot of luck.

One of the CAS panel worked in the Middle East office of Etihad and Etisalat's lawyers.

OK, one last post about it.

This was presumably the guy City selected from the approved list who voted for City every time, as opposed to the German guy UEFA selected who voted for UEFA every time?

Not sure this helps allay any suspicions people may have about independence ...

The Opposition: Cartel - American owners / Betting Syndicates

Who has the most to lose/ gain?
Which other clubs have been investigated?
Considering 9 football teams in the league have gambling company as main sponsor, 11 teams have gambling company sponsor on their shirt.
4 clubs out-with the American cartel clubs are owned by gamblers and one of the owners has ongoing investigations into drug trafficking

Interesting article about the hateful 8(9)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...tep-war-against-Manchester-City-FFP-saga.html

Arsenal, Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester United all currently have American owners. Therefore, U.S. businessmen back almost half of all English top flight teams, will potentially be 10 clubs when Burnley are promoted next season. Currently 13 clubs owned by American owners and gambling syndicates. Is it just all to obvious?

Is it possible that they are in cahoots and all have a vested interest?
Why are the Premier league/ FA targeting Manchester City and why have the referee decisions this season been embarrasingly biased against us with majority believing some form of corruption.
