Virtue signaling reddit westerners is =/= the real world. They said the same shite how they going to boycott the world cup and everyone tuned it and watched it. I remember threads having over 38k comments in the big games. The soccer thread is full of open racism takes saying that Qatar is colonizing the UK. As soon as they see Harry Kane in a United shirt they will forget about everything and start praising them because those so called moral social justice warriors are full of hypocrisy.

I can't help but to feel jealous that you guys might finally get owners who will take the club forward and win you trophies, unlike us Liverpool who are likely going to be stuck with Yanks who will bleed the club dry and make Liverpool stay a mid table club for the foreseeable future. I'm seriously thinking about giving up on football all together and just sticking with Formula one, I supported the club for over 20 years so It's time to have a long break.
What the fuck is this sack of shit?

Just seen that Goldbridge has had a poll on his station about who the Rags would rather buy the club, Qatar or Ratcliffe.

83% want Qatar.

So all this talk about the morals of owners etc goes right out of the window when dirty oil money comes knocking.
Looks like dirty oil money isn't so dirty after all? Poor ol' united lol.

Some key points from the article:

But what are United and its supporters supposed to do? Take a moral stance that nobody on the blue half of Manchester ever did? That nobody in Newcastle has taken? That nobody in Chelsea ever did even though we all knew where Abramovich’s money was really coming from?

United need money. They need to be rid of the dead weight on the shoulders that has been the Glazers for so long. If that cash ends up coming from Qatar, United will merely find themselves part of an ever-expanding cartel. It all feels a bit grim but it has done for so long now. The Premier League is no longer an English football competition. It is an elite football competition that happens to be played in England. Much of the values we once held, we have allowed to slip away. United were standard bearers on and off the field for a long time but that standing has been worn away by land grabs made by their rivals on the back of billions of pounds of foreign money.

This is where we are. This is what we have become. If Qatar offers United a way out the Glazer stranglehold, it’s hard to imagine many of their supporters lying awake at night worrying about the rights or wrongs of it.

"United were standard bearers on and off the field for a long time but that standing has been worn away by land grabs made by their rivals on the back of billions of pounds of foreign money. "

This is just embarrassing.

It's not racist to point out that Qatar does have a big influence on football here, same as the Yanks (and the Russians until the war in Ukraine happened).

I really doubt Goldbridge's viewers are in anyway a representation of match going or local rags.

Always sceptical about investors sounding off in the media about buying a football club. Or saying a bid is imminent.

Its usually done for publicity than anything else.
The ball juggler from Three Legs Land* springs to mind.

* Michael Knighton for those, who are too young to remember his farcical claims about buying rag central.

this would be a private investment and not sportwashing state investment. you will hear this combinations of it and similar mental gymnastics most likely straight from Tariq Panjabi, Fool Harris and the rest of clowns.

It’s a vicious circle, isn’t it.

If new owners want to compete at the top end of the Premier League, they have to invest billions to stand any chance, after the two cheeks of the same arse led the way in the monetising of English football.

Now, they are crying "Foul," and how it’s not fair that other clubs are able, not only to compete with them, but to outdo them in winning trophies.

Now, the followers of these cheeks demand owners, who can make them trophy contenders again.

What moral stance does Ladyman think I had to take ?
This country has rapist cops, corrupt politicians, drug dealers richer than most who order gangland executions, the list goes on and on and yet Ladyman expects me to pontificate about an individual who bought my club. Fuck off.
Oh and United were standard bearers according to prick. I am not even going to list the shit this lot have done.

No wonder they want us out the way, then they could sit there high up on the chair of righteousness pontificating to the plebs.
