Shamima Begum

So the BBC has given the turd a platform. Apparently it is our fault she joined a murderous cult. Glad the fee we are forced to pay is being put to good use..

No one forced you to pay the licence fee.

Do you feel the same way as the young girls who are groomed and raped? Did they ‘ask for it’? Strange how the colour of someone’s skin changes things.

That’s a very strange comparison, one group of girls were groomed and raped and the other girl joined a terrorist organisation, realised it wasn’t a bed of Roses and wanted to change her mind

Would you have the same opinion if Begum was a young man and not a woman ?
Strange how someone’s sex changes things

P.S trying to imply people are racist is lazy and lame

It is true though. Boys don't usually get groomed and raped. Nobody on here is talking about boys. The Rotherham girls, amongst many others, were classed, rightly, as being groomed and therefore innocent. The same is not said about these girls. Why do you not class them as being groomed? They clearly have been.

Having been brain washed first perhaps? I'm sure she just didn't wake up one morning and fancied a free, extended holiday in Syria.....
There is literally a video of her admitting she joined on her own free will.

She then said she wasn't aware of the beheadings of British Aid workers and American journalists etc which is hard to believe given the extensive press coverage of these atrocities were all over social media.

Nobody's saying that she was physically forced to leave her home and travel to Syria; she did 'choose' to do it, but the point is that she was manipulated into doing so by adults. She was a child.

Irrespective of how much was manipulation and how much she knew beforehand it’s this country’s responsibility to establish whether it is appropriate to punish her or rehabilitate her or a bit of each. The outsourcing of our responsibility to deal with her to Bangladesh or anyone else is wrong and is purely political to throw red meat to potential Tory voters.
I wasn’t particularly convinced by her excuses when I saw the first part of the programme but it should be the responsibility of U.K. authorities to work it out not anyone else.

Stop it I'm weeping buckets here for her. If anything she deserves an apology and compensation not derision.

Thank god, or the tother one, that she was unbrainwashed whilst out there just at the right time and can now get back to her various charitable roles.

Girls a beacon.

Have you considered that you might have been radicalised yourself?

This is just boring mate.

As opposed to your riveting reply mate:-)

Unfortunately suckers are born everyday and a day in your life doesn't mean someone suddenly knows right from wrong.

The fact some of you seem to care is touching but believe me she couldn't give a fuck what happens to you.

I’m trying to explain that responsibility is complex when it comes to minors. That’s why there are different rules for them when it comes to criminal trials. Well there are in the UK anyway, where she is a citizen of and where she should therefore be brought to trial. It’s boring that you think because I say this I am apparently a sucker or think she’s a saint.

I'm not interested in the legal aspect of it. What will happen will happen without our say so. It's a forum to debate things if people want to fall back on legality and can't think beyond what others tell them then I'm not sure why they post.

At her age and with the amount of social media about nowadays she knew what she was doing. You think she was a victim and is not responsible. Knock yourself out.

All around this is an unfortunate story and I feel bad for the girl.

In my opinion, her mother failed her completely and should look inward when placing blame and not just push it on to other things and people. Yes they had a role but she did also.

are you a parent? are you fully aware of EVERYTHING children - possibly yours - get up to online?

I'm sure many of you know about this...

There's a 6 year old in the States that KNOWINGLY took a gun to school, he knew what he was doing as he planned it from the start, putting the weapon in his bag and making his way to school to finish of him taking it out and pulling the trigger.

So, here's the question; do you believe he's been groomed to use the weapon by practising with it and watching whatever films or shows there are using the same weapon?

Should he have the 'fuck him, let him rot' attitude thrown at him or should he viewed through lens of a child making rash decisions?

There are 8 to 10 year olds taking knives with them and stabbing victims, fully intent on causing harm. There are 11 to 13 year olds making some seriously dumb decisions in life that lead to them becoming sexually active/ parents before the regulated law allows.

I watched my 13 year make decisions tonight based on rash decisions and he had a sit down protest in a temper, but when his moment of madness clears, he'll see his error.

Children make really dumb decisions they think is fine at the time and come to regret it, later.
