The suspicion is that the opinions of the editor should be followed and they are forced to choose between proper honest reporting and skewed opinion of the media who employ them.
In other words job or no job.

No editor worth their salt would ignore concrete evidence of corruption when it comes to officiating.

They know if they don't run it, someone else will.

A story such as the one being claimed tells its own story.

I have to say the whole recording that City may have is not directly relevant to our situation with the charges as far as I can see it. If it’s true the Premier League will have some serious questions to answer. However we are facing some serious charges from the league and I think the recording is a sideshow that’s unlikely to result in any charges being dropped without infinity more question being asked of the Premier League.
