The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

Getting my Blue Badge, allows 3 hours in the yellow lined areas, and you set it from 15 mins after you get there. Fuck them.

Has this started/ended?

An expanded Residents' Parking Scheme and improvements to the Metrolink are currently being implemented.

All new facilities would support Manchester's Net Zero by 2038 target, with measures being looked at to support walking and cycling links with the city centre.
Not everyone travels that way you dicks

So apart from going to the cemetery no fucker will park there, genius!

No fucker at all will use them ever, if you do want to go to the cemetery in a car, you can actually drive in, no need to park on the road. Its complete and utter madness, to spend money on what is essentially a giant white elephant.

When i drive I always park on Clayton lane. I park near the Bridge Inn pub and i used to have a pre match pint in there until it closed down at the end of last season. I still park there and sometimes I'll have a pint in the Victoria or not bother, and that's closing at the end of the season. Public transport to the stadium is absolutely crap and I think a lot of regulars will stop going to games when these parking restrictions come into place.

Its the same on Clayton Lane, complete and utter madness not a single residential property between Croft Street and Cycle Street, yet they are creating parking bays with a maximum stay of 90 minutes for residents to park, these parking bays will never ever be used.

They want everyone to magically teleport to the game spend arse loads on food and booze then teleport out again without any mither.
Sounds about right with how out of touch football clubs are with their fanbases.

Clubs don’t give one shiny shit about who buys tickets, where they come from or how they get to games… they only care about selling the tickets.

As more and more new housing developments are built around Eastlands, the parking situation will only get worse.

There are housing and apartments under construction near Ashburys Train Station. That’s where I normally park.

Manchester’s population is booming, especially in the city centre and in the outer fringes of the city centre into the inner suburbs.
It’s boomed too much, too quickly for the Council/govt to keep up with. There are currently too many people living in Manchester for what it can cope with.

Public transport isn’t fit for the conurbation population size, roads are busy all day and ridiculously gridlocked (worse than it should be) in the mornings and evenings, there aren’t even enough secondary school places for all children and some schools have been made to take on more kids than they’re supposed to be subscribed… as you’ve previously mentioned in this thread and we’ve spoken about briefly on this site recently, the Council cannot keep up with the litter situation either.

I said the word ‘drastically’ in an earlier post on this thread, but Manchester does need to drastically improve its public transport. Metrolink is too slow because every line comes through the city centre so slows down to walking pace on the roads of Town. Anything that happens on any line and all lines are affected.

Post-games at the Etihad you can wait close to 30 minutes once you get to the platform before a Met to Town shows up. That’s just pathetic!

In this yellow area here^ you can stack around three double units of Mets during the second half of the game and have them ready for the final whistle. Then for another half an hour or so, send another Met in between every Ashton-bound Met and have them turn back to head to Town as well.

Here’s a close-up of the yellow section:

See the third run-off Met line between the main lines?

The club should buy a fleet of buses and have them rolling from Piccadilly and Victoria stations pre-and post-game. Free if you have a match ticket. Our club are sitting at the top of the Deloitte revenue table, spend some of it on getting the fans to-and-from the stadium!

Live round the corner myself
Not used for a couple of years
Join Failsworth supporters branch - unsure of price of coach certainly cheaper than car parks
Supporters Clubs should be looking at this and thinking ahead.

I’d suggest all Supporters Clubs start promoting themselves as much as possible with increased coach services from their branch to the Etihad for home games from when this comes in.

I have a dead body in the boot of my car, can I park in the cemetery if I just show that?

Dead handy at times.

I love seeing the Mickey Spillane mini bus, always makes me smile.

Don't know where it comes from but reminds me of the "Jolly Boys Outing"

I assume you mean the Philips Park Cemetery, if so all unrestricted parking will disappear, to be replaced with parking bays that allow you to park for a maximum of 90 minutes, ive attached the map for you.

The changes around Riverpark Road are complete and utter madness, they are creating parking bays with a maximum stay of 90 minutes that are never ever going to be utilised. It baggers belief it really does.......

I thought the site that had parking near the crem not letting fans park inside was madness, this is just even worse.

Dump the car at Ashton park and ride. If the car park is full, there's a retail park across the road. Hop on the tram. It takes 20 minutes to the ground. No running the gauntlet or driving around like a loon trying to dump the car. It's the same on the way back. 20 mins to the car you are on the M60 and away before most people have even got half a mile from the stadium.

People who happily sit in traffic for an hour before and after every game are either really lazy or just enjoy misery.
How much is the return trip on the tram if you don't mind ne asking please

That journey goes through zone 3+2 ,so an off peak (ie after 9.30am weekdays and all day weekends and bank holidays) is currently £3.10 return. Best paid by tapping in and out with a contactless card or smart phone.

Any local with a parking permit or free driveway can list their parking space on a site like parking.com or justpark (whatever the current names are) and make a few bob from the driving punters.
I've been using such sites for trips to Wembley since 2011.
I'm well aware this doesn't help those who currently park for free.
The guy we use for Wembley earns £2,000+ a year for events parking
