There is a total lack of common sense in a rather large part of the general public. It appears people are more educated but less intelligent. People turning up to Emergency Departments with snapped acrylic nails, shampoo in the eye, feeling low, bad reaction to marijuana, pissed etc, etc. They take time away from clinicians that really should be spent on patients who need their time (there are examples on this thread).
They've been drastically underfunded for years. My MIL had an Aortic aneurism in 2009, they put her on a fucking waiting list for an op, two months later it popped, she died instantly. She should've been operated on immediately.
There have always been idiots who go to the doctor for no reason. To balance it out, how many people aren’t going to the doctor when they really need to, because of the current waiting times? Are more people going to the doctors unnecessarily now than they were 10 or 20 years ago? Or is the real issue 12 years of underfunding? Perhaps there are more people going to certain areas of the NHS because another part of it is on its arse. Not to mention the role of social care.

Similar with getting prescription for 50ppack of paracetamol that probably costs the nhs £10, it’s not the funding it’s how it’s used and wasted, many times I’ve been to the chemist and I’m the only one paying for my prescription. In lockdown A&E was empty and rightly so no one in with as stubbed toe etc, it’s showed how much people waste in this country, why is IVF and sexy changes paid for by the NHS? Thats not what it’s for, it’s for life saving stuff.

Nope but not everything is mental health, i knew that would get dragged up because it’s used for everything now, why should the tax payer fund IVF? You want kids then pay private if youre that desperate. Mental health is like the new bad back, it’s the easy get out clause, like everything needs a label. Little Johnny has ADHD he’s not a bad lad, no he fucking is because you’ve let him do what the fuck he wants most of his life. We are funding sex changes yet having to raise money for charities for cancer research! If your that desperate to have your dick chopped off pay for it, or just say your a women and get on with it, that’s allowed now isn’t it?

In lockdown I was working and talking to nurses and paramedics so I know what was going on, I didn’t say I was the only one paying but in oldham every time I go in it certainly seems like it.
