Getting a GP appointment

Wow managed to get a telephone call with a GP tomorrow! it Was like trying to get a ticket for Glastonbury, refresh, refresh, refresh. It’s a fucking disgrace, im sorry but the nhs is not fit for purpose at the moment, something needs to change and fast.

It's called pass the hot brick, nobody wants to take any responsibility, poor old lady in the pharmacist yesterday, probably in her 80s who'd had a bad fall, cuts and bruises on knees and hands, apparently she'd been sent there by her surgery. Chemist conconcerned but offered pain killers. I suppose he could have referred her to A&E but it would have been packed with all the other surgery directed patients. All of course choreographed by the powers that be for the final nail in the NHS coffin.

Hate to say this guys but its not the case up here in the wilds of Whitby

I generally don't go to docs being blessed with reasonable health but last week I had blocked ears, rang surgery at 10.00am, was given 4.00pm appointment, got drops from in-house pharm, and given nurse appontment for following week, when drops had softened ear wax, and can now hear clear as a bell.
Guess its post code lottery but there are other downsides to living in the North Yorks outback

All part of the Tories plan. Underfund, overcomplicate, and when it fails tell the public the only way to save it is to privatise.

The NHS was funded by a percentage of GDP from inception until the 80s. Then it all started to change. It's now already partly privatised. And it's a mess!

It's a weird system in England, I remember it. You have your own GP and that's it. You can't just go to another GP.

Here it's different. All GP's are in private practices. Which means you can go to any GP you want, you can go and get a 2nd opinion if you want.
Although I've only seen the same GP for the last 5 years because she's bloody great.

When you go you dont pay, the bill is sent to Medicare and they pay it.
I can usually see my GP the next day. If she was away or something I could see another one.
TBF it's a great system they have here.
Your memory's gone Bill. You can change to a different practice without a problem. The actual problem is getting the same gp twice in a row, even though, through Ask My Lazy GP.
As part of my ongoing problems my left eye is blurred. All I wanted was the gp to refer me back to the expert. On the Monday I spoke to a gp who insisted I first revisit the optician and he would then refer me. I did that and looked to contact him back saying the report had been sent.
The gp was no longer on the list so I had to select 'anyone'. I spoke to another penis who stated a) the first doctor only works Mondays, hence why he wasn't on the list and b) there was no point in a referral as there was nothing they could do. After politely (cough) explaining what I thought of his wonderful service, he got the other bloke to ring me.

The government closed 19,000 hospital beds and got rid of 50,000 doctors and nurses.

It was never going to end well.

Just saying.
I do not know whether they did or didn't do what you say but it has fuck all to do with the gp system.
I do not want a hospital bed and a doctor stood beside it.
I want a knowledgeable, considerate person to speak to me, to help me with their medical knowledge the best he/she can.
More so, I want someone to just oil the wheels so that my 87yr old mum can get her cancerous eye seen to.
I do not want an ignorant wanker who earns north of a 100k a year to sit in his little castle doing absolutely fuck all.
(Other than telling my mam to ring the hospital herself)

Just sayin'

No it is not part of the Tory plan. Johnson has not told the entire North West gp service to act like wankers.
I changed surgeries because they were useless and lazy, all I got was exactly the same.
I annoys me when labour supporters blame the tories for everything.
Care and consideration, professional pride, a desire to help, the tories didn't remove any of that in the last round of cuts.
I've suffered for over 2 years, I've seen gp wankers, specialist wankers and wankers in general. They have lost all professional pride.

If you change surgeries you'll end up with the same problems just in a different building. The tories want you to die so they don't have to payout benefits or pensions. I just hope that fat ginger lying tosspot gets the monkey pox and rams one too many banana s up his rusty bullet hole.

Whilst I agree with all of that I do not agree it is the Torys fault.
As previously posted my 87yr old mum has a cancer on her face, it is by her eye. She has been referred back to the hospital months ago. Last week when putting her glasses on she made her skin bleed on the cancerous bit.
All she wanted was the gp to try and speed things up in the queue. (If at all possible)
The overpaid wanker told her to ring the hospital !!!
That is not that weirdo Johnston, a tory ploy to privatise the NHS or Sunak trying to save money, that is an ignorant wanker and sadly there are too many if them

Hope your mum got sorted eventually mate, shocking treatment.

The Tories have been shit haven't they? But as you say the NHS is infested with people you mention in your post.
