It seems a bit weird we have to worry about an experienced senior player, supposedly with a steady partner not going off the rails.
Just as well Jack will be occupied might not be a good idea if they both had a week off together.

The Liverpool - City - Arsenal fixtures may be determinant this year, coming when they do.

That said there ALWAYS seems to be a shock result or two towards the end of the season (Utd 4 - 4 Everton, Palace 3 - 3 Liverpool), in which the expected winner doesn’t get 3 points.

Beat Liverpool & Arsenal at home, and have Arsenal lose AWAY at both Liverpool and the Etihad, and winning the title is in our hands.

Sadly, I just don’t see City taking full points to the end of the season, so we will need Arsenal to drop points elsewhere, too.

In addition, I notice they have quietly closed the GD gap, too, so that “tiebreaker” is no longer a given, either!

May you live in interesting times!

Totally agree
But it's behind him now and his performance since was top draw.
So onwards and upwards I think we will school LiVARpool 3-0 CTID

The Liverpool that's been getting dominated away from home by bang average sides won't be the one that turns up here. They cannot stand the fact we have stopped them winning countless trophies and are up for the game against us more than any other team on the planet in the last few years.

12.30 pm kick off after an international break really ruins our building momentum, hopefully we get everyone back safe first and foremost and then we give these a thumping. Anything other than a win and we lose the title.

But for woeful finishing we should have been 5 up at HT in the carabao game tbf, I hope for a similar performance but actually take a few sitters this time

If he's on for one and Pep takes him off he will get fucking pelters

If we’re 5 goals to the good and Pep’s not taking our best players off on the hour mark, to protect them for the PL run-in and the sharp end of the CL & FAC, then he’ll be getting pelters from me because I support Manchester City and therefore think it more important for my club to be in with their very best chance to win honours than for an individual player to polish his personal statistics.

C’mon Bluemanc, just imagine the howls of derision if we were 5 up with 30 minutes left to play and Pep left Haaland on the field, only for Haaland to suffer a needless and avoidable season ending injury that then scuppered our chances in all competitions? IMO it doesn’t bear thinking about.

The way I see it is that only Haaland supporters (as opposed to City supporters) are likely to think otherwise.

PS. But if it’s 5-4 or 5-5 then yep, leave him on Pep ;-)

Arsenal 8pts ahead and all that, but I'd say if we beat the Scousers then it's largely in our hands as I think it's extremely unlikely Arse will win at Anfield (last time that happened, Mike Summerbee was in diapers or so it feels).

I can recall when United were leading City by eight points with each having six matches to play.

United lost at Wigan, drew at home to Everton 4-4 (from 4-1 up!), lost to City and the rest is history.

3-1 and 4-2 up - but yes it was hard to believe

12:30 (GMT) kick off. Live on BT Sport for those in the UK.

Firstly it's 2 weeks away so we get a chance to chill, although we could have done without the break given the way we're playing at the moment.

We've hit form at the perfect time, 9 games unbeaten, 6 straight wins, not conceded in 5 games.

We could be 8 points behind before kick off, it all depends on how Arsenal get on against Palace tomorrow.

I think a win here really sets the tone for the run in. Arsenal have a tough run of games after this, including going to Anfield a week later.

Liverpool are scrapping for top 4 so it won't be a walk over but we're at home and chasing the title, their away form has been poor, this isn't the same Liverpool as previous seasons but they will raise their game for us.

Assuming nobody gets injured over the break:
---------------Ederson
Walker---Stones--Dias---Ake
----------------Rodri
------De Bruyne--Gundogan
Bernardo-----Haaland----Foden

Or drop 1 of Gundogan/Bernardo and start Grealish. I think that is the only decision to make.
Kickoff is 12:30 BST - not GMT.
Apologies if that feels like nitpicking but it may be quite significant for blues based overseas and perhaps should be edited.

We owe them for the Anfield game and their behaviour in the league cup at the Etihad. And just in general because they're scum. They play us, then Chelsea away and then Arsenal at home. Beat them and beat them well and their top 4 chances could be done by the end of the week. It wouldn't be a bad thing for them to have a make or break at home to Arsenal and give them a battering. Let's help them help us!

Thanks for the heads up, I do state the timezone because of our overseas fans, hadn't realised its daylight savings this week.
