Next season is the one in which Ten Hag will be judged as with another transfer window and time to implement his ideas.

1st season if he gets a trophy or 2 and CL football, then he will be considered a success (Pep’s first season was not that good).

For balance, they are and have been an anomaly for about 10 years. The team at the top of other leagues have always been the highest spending fees/ wages.

Sometimes we have been higher and most of the time, especially recently they have. It is a huge failure that they are where they are (regardless of Glazer’s the money has been spent). They are probably the only team in the Prem who would pay £100 million for Kane and probably another £100 million in wages for someone with no value at the end of the 5 years.

So the bar is set so low for what should be expected. That whilst I agree there has been an improvement, I still feel the owners should be expected to see more for the investment.

Hope others are right, I think these guys will be in our rear view mirror again in next couple of years.

Ten Hag has got an idea how he wants to play which is out from the back, trouble is when he’s tried it they got ripped to pieces doing it. Brentford being one example of it, when it has come to playing in the big games he reverts back to keeping a compact shape and see what can happen on the counter. It might work in a one off game and they suckered us with it in January. However over the course of the season it’s going to get found out.

Their defensive record is worse than Liverpool’s and even worse than West Ham who are right in the scrap to stay up. Their goal difference is plus 4, it tells a story that they aren’t convincingly winning games. They have had a purple patch since January which any team can have and now it’s come to an end.
 
So good to see them continue to put in appalling performances. When the ref isn't willing to give them a hand, they just crumble. Rashford was just pathetic. Appealing for fouls each time he got touched, jogging around and not even bothering for most of the game. Penandes equally lazy. They just completely gave up just like they did against the dippers. It's a shame the chasing pack aren't in better shape or they too could miss out on the top 4 still. Maybe now Spuds have got rid of Conte they can get their act together. What a wonderful season it would be if the rags and dippers weren't in the top 4 and had to stick with Europa/Europa Conference League football.

They'll still be baffled when our revenue is higher than theirs of course.

They are average on a regular basis. The assistance from the officials is a scandal, and this season is no different. I still shake my head in disbelief though at that season a few years back when penalty after dubious penalty went their way. Unreal.
 
It would be heaven if they dropped lower and qualified for the Conference League - mind you, it would be ranked higher than the Champion's & Europa Leagues for one season.

I was about to post the same. The possession football lasted 2 games because they were hammered.
Ten Hag hasn't changed anything (bar sacking off PR37)

Had Liverpool not dropped off so badly had Spursy well not been Spursy then this lot would be nothing near

It’s all hype by the media improved that much yet there bitterest rivals put 7 and 6 goals past them did that happen under Ole ?????

There upturn in form was down to going up against bang average teams and having easy rides in cup competitions............ still in a nutshell he may have improved them slightly but the sad deluded masses will think they will be challenging for the title next season ............

Don’t think they suckered you in when it was clearly down to bent officials why you lost that game :( you simply couldn’t see Inited getting back into them game until the ref got involved ............ his plan may work until they concede and then what ?????
 
Rag relative was round to watch the rags last night, he was all for it before kick off but whimpering by the time it had finished.

He turned his attention to City and started frothing about how much we have gotten away with, I threw in the Edwards owners and the now incumbent Glazers when the time happens those good old Qataris will keep the tradition up.

God these fans are angry, he never goes to a match ever but had all of the newspaper cuttings and bedspreads.

They haven’t improved. They have traded the prancing pony for Antony who is dogshit,mctominay and rat face get away with murder every game,De geas always has a Rick waiting to happen and Shaw has gone backwards and the manager is obsessed with buying Dutch players

They haven't "improved hugely" at all, still very limited footballing and tactical ability beyond parking the bus and hoofing it upfield, no better at all than what was seen under Mourinho or Solskjaer.

Rashford isn't now and never has been a "brilliant" player, his indivdual game or team contribution hasn't actually improved at all this season, he's just had an extended fortuitous run of popping up in just the right spot once every match to convert an easy chance... and even that seems to have come to a shuddering halt now and he's back to strolling around the pitch doing very little.

I actually wish folk would actually sit and watch them play rather than listening to the media who crave United to be good ........... at no point have I sat there and thought they are decent ..........there only win of note was down to bent officials ......... the same United that got battered at the start of the season have always been waiting to reappear just a shame some cannot see it :)

I watched yesterday's game and some of those guys playing are average at best. How on earth they are playing for the self entitled biggest club in the world I shall never know. How is bloody lindeloft still there!! :-)
And Anthony and weghorst!! Fuck me who scouted them!!

they dont even play like the bully played them hoof down wing get it in box as quick as possible now it's hoof if forward

They have been dicked by us , the dipper’s ers , Brentford and Madrid and made to look really poor in the process. The fact they gave up against the dippers is proof they are not decent contenders
