The Conservative Party

Will they delude themselves in thinking it’s some kind of victory? I would hope not but everything they have said they will deliver, they’ve tried to delude us into thinking that they have.

Worst government in my time, and that’s no delusion.
What will that say about the opposition when they form another government next election?

They are shithouses. I grew with the Thatcher government destroying my education. (No books, heating etc). I'll give them cunts one thing they were honourable cunts who fell on the sword if they were caught out being bent.

This is what shits the Tories up - not the insane content of the speech but look at the make up of the audience - thats how Reform UK pushes them further to the Right

Rascals non vote could win it for the Tories?

Really? Haha
Not him as an individual, but look at the Starmer or Labour Party threads and see how many left-wingers are slagging him and the party off. Look how many Twitter accounts of left-wingers are slagging them off.

You know what ‘trending’ is like these days; it seems to be trendy at the moment to be a left-winger and hate Starmer/Labour and call them Tory-lite. I imagine there are loads of people like this across the country so when it comes to voting it could be a lot of people who’ll not bother voting or voting for Greens or something.

Instead of getting rid of this disgraceful Tory govt and improving things (even if not to the extent people really want), I wouldn't be surprised to see the Tories getting in again.

They will get in again.

Via a small majority of hung parliament.

it wasn't us and anyway if it was we were bit part players and I am telling you this because they wouldn't redact my name from the papers.................... Johnson chose his gate keepers who were liars in his image

13 years of Tory rule undermined here by Nick Gibb with scant regard given to the months hard work done by those Trojams and Kwarteng

The answer to this is 100% yes.

I can promise to come back here in a month with ample quotes declaring the election a Tory success without even knowing the outcome.

They will get in again.

I wish I was 100% confident that the Tory strategy of rancid cruelty against minorities won't prove electorally popular.

I think if the past few elections have taught me anything it’s that the internet is really not a good indicator of consensus in the general voting population.

People actively debating this stuff online make up a tiny fraction of the overall electorate but those are the voices you hear and see most prominently.

I haven’t had a single conversation outside of the internet about Starmer being a traitor to the Labour left. I’m not arguing the merits of that position, I certainly have sympathies with it, I just think this kind of inter-party wrangling is of absolutely no interest to most voters. They want to know if a leader can be trusted to do a good job and if their party has a good set of policies that they agree with. That’s it. We don’t really know what Labour’s election platform is yet because we’re still miles away from an election so revealing them now would be strategically giving the Conservatives a head start.

I will judge Starmer based on the strength of his election campaigning, policies and whether I deem him to have more integrity than his competition (low bar there) and I suspect most of the country will do the same.

People are entitled to whatever opinion they like. Also I said as an individual when you put the x against your choice you ain't changing dick so you ain't allowing the tories to get in.

If you think people should publicly keep quiet about their misgivings(at least those with any sway) just to keep out the Tories that is a different matter.

At the end of the day I reckon the vast majority of the left calling Starmer out will vote for him.

It will be middle England that does for the Tories and a few folk who voted tory because of brexit last time
