Maybe not it’s own thread, but here goes…

Any unsettled player of City they seem to get linked with or try to tap up…

This end of season looks like…

Gundogan
Laporte
Silva

Whilst I am accepting of Gundogan, he owes City nothing, no transfer fee and could quite easily take the wages of a player they sell. If it works for him and them, ok and all the best (really enjoyed watching him both at Dortmund and at City, criminally underrated by most opposition fans and will be very tough to replace).

Laporte, whilst I can see the appeal of Barca for him and there is obviously conversations going on, this is Spains starting CB. You just know they are going to try and do a deal with him and then try and low ball ourselves using the players will for a lower fee. Quite frankly the price they would charge us, is nowhere near what they can afford to pay, but won’t stop them trying to do a deal.

Bernardo, anyone who buys him will be on my sh*t list bar Benfica. A wonderful footballer and a wonderful person by all accounts. They messed us around last season and quite frankly should not even be shopping for this type of player, given their finances. My hope is no-one goes for him and we get 1 more year (however, I have said the same thing last 2 years, so I can’t (although I will) be too unhappy if this is the year).

My overall point is if you have Tesco money, you should not be shopping in Harrords, but as they always have previously they keep on trying! Let’s hope we stand up to them.

Just to make you feel even crankier.
Just announced

FC Barcelona has closed a financing deal on its $1.6 billion Espai Barça renovation project, which will expand and upgrade the landmark Camp Nou stadium and other installations. The financing comes from a total of 20 investors, according to the statement issued by the club.

I’m ok with that part, the idea of upgrading Nou Camp and growing revenues, which they then pay back investors with is simply business.

It’s the unwillingness to accept their current predicament and going to players getting them to accept less money then they had agreed to pay them, then going out into the market trying to buy same level of players as before.

Cut your cloth accordingly for a few years and take your medicine.

Barcelona signing our cast offs......wow....just let that sink in.

And,provided the cheap fuckers cough up,I think its great. They are not going to a direct rival and it provides us opportunity to upgrade.

I agree mate I mean app they still owe leeds full raphinna money

It annoys the shit out of me that Barcelona is unsettling our players constantly in their ear. I reckon Laporte and Bernardo would probably stay WITHOUT the influence of those Barcelona cunts. The worst part is that they won't even pay us good fees. Watch them offer us 30m in 10 installments for Laporte and 40 for Bernie in fucking 20 installments. Laughable and offensive. They want our players? Fine, let's trade, Pedri and Gavi in exchange.

Nah, they’re smart enough and I make their own decisions. Laporte is good enough to start for most teams and Bernie’s wanted a different country for a few years. Barcelona will win the league this year and obviously still have massive global appeal. I wouldn’t begrudge either player going as long as the money was right.

That being said, wouldn’t mind having a look at Araujo, Balde or Gavi if they’re skint.

Don't really understand this thread. Your annoyed they are using underhand tactics to sign players?

Why do you care.

The issue is they tap up players and then try every trick to drive down the price.

Some might not see that now, but will be Bernie is sold for £40 million (£25 up front and £15 million over 4 years) and £10 million on the basis they win back to back UCL’s etc.

I know the response is the club should not sell, but it won’t be that simple.

If they paid market value whilst looking for a bit of a deal, fine. But they take the P.

Exactly. Bernardo must be easily around the 80m mark in terms of market value. 2 years left on his contract, one of the world's best players. I would be happy to let him go for that because he has done enough for us, and I understand he wants to move. However, more likely, we will be getting the boldened part, which is a big fat NO from me.

Ask Barca how much would they want for their stars, and the prices will be all 100m+. Hypocrites.

Very naive thinking.

Barca are still a huge draw for any player.

What's all the fuss about?
What deal did we do with Barca against our will?
Torres? Txiki masterclass.
Garcia? We refused to take 15m.

We will only do deals that we want to do.
Surely, being in a better position.

I don't expect Bernardo leaving on a cheap. He has to bring a club paying £70m or he stays. Hope he sees out his contract til 2025 and gets home back to Benfica.
