West Ham (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Had a look at google maps and decided I wasn't going anywhere near that route (plus A50 closure at Uttoxeter) - over the hills to Chesterfield and M1 was a lovely route last night.
 
A few observations:-

1. Having looked at the matchday thread this morning, especially at around half time, we really do have some utter cunts “supporting” us - the football we play, the players that do it, and yet spoilt cunts make posts like that just because of a flat half

2. Who could have thought sat in the ground for game after game under Pearce that a few years later we’d have a player who has scored 51 goals for us with 8 or 9 games to go, and a manager who has presided over his 1,000th goal after less than 7 years in charge. Yes Stuart ONE THOUSAND

3. Just watching the recording on Sly and MTIAFC couldn’t even get excited about the all time PL being broken, ****

4. If we win on Saturday and arsenal draw on Sunday, then assuming arsenal win all their other games then we need 2 wins out of our last 4 games to win our third PL on the bounce and our 5th in 6. And yet we get cunts posting like that in the matchday thread, unbelievable

To be honest my first(and I think most City fans) preference is PL. After that CL and last FA Cup.
Of course and I want us to win everything, but I mean I do not want to risk PL for CL by playing an inferior team with Leeds.

Regarding Point 1: it’s amazing how many of these so-called Blues disappear from the Match Day thread once we take the lead.

PL first and foremost. Being champions is the pinnacle for me. CL is a knockout, seeded tournament and it is a total crap shoot. FA Cup is tricky to win round-by-round. But please let us go strong in each PL game and see what we have to work with in the others.

FA Cup sure is tricky when you get the hardest draw in every round whilst your eventual final opponents get a free pass to Wembley!
 
When we have all calmed down and thought about it, that was a very comfortable win, even with the changes we made. West Ham essentially decided to put 11 behind the ball and see if they could nick one on the break or via a set piece. It was just a matter of time when we scored and they would have no idea what to do next which turned out to be the case. Said to a mate after about 10 minutes that it will be 0-0 at half time then we will score a couple of early goals and score twice in the last ten minutes, I wasn't far off. Leeds will set up exactly the same, the only difference being that they may have slightly more pace up front than West Ham and they won't be as good at wasting time. Expect a similar style game with us having to break down a packed defence which we will do having passed them to death in the first half. We can then all become Geordies, Ha'way the lads.
 
First half was a bit flat and drab, but some how we know that 9 times out of 10 the second half is always better, it’s like sometimes we need 45 minutes to suss out the weak points of the opposition, I guess that’s what all the back room staff are doing, it’s getting quite uncanny

Find it mental the amount of hate he gets on here. Makes sure that everyone knows he's a blue, there is footage of him wildly celebrating City goals and victories. But at the end of the day his job means he has to remain impartial, he will say things against City because he has to. But he's the only City guy we have that is in the mainstream media, in fact he's gone further than a lot of other non-City ones. So weird.
 
A very odd game.

Everything about that first half was off.....the cohesion,the understanding,the magic,the lack of intensity and desire,and the pancake atmosphere - it was almost like a dead rubber fixture,a perfect storm in terms of lethargy and flatness.

It needed a bolt of enthusiasm and invention at HT,as we were in danger of getting caught by a sucker,and thankfully that 2nd half was a complete contrast......everyone seemed to wake up and realise what was at stake.

An absolutely vital and ultimately brilliant 3 points.

I dont think many on here 'hate' him. Just the dickheads that do have to go on and on about it. Some gimp has 3 posts in this thread slagging him off but hasn't mentioned last nights match once.
