one thing is for certain, they can't defend for shit we'll score on Tuesday just a question of how many

It's not certain, we couldn't score at Spurs who are levels below Real. And we scored only once at Leipzig who are much weaker than Real. It's pointless to overstate their supposed weaknesses. They are a top team under a great manager playing at home.

How are you supposed to win if you can't exploit their weaknesses, over two legs we'll hammer them

watching recents games and in particular Kyle looking clueless with the ball made me think about who i‘m most confident in when they have the ball:

totally: Kev, jack, Gundo, bernie, stones, Lewis (already!) laporte, ake, Akanji, rodders
fine: Dias, Eddie (maybe harsh but only because the jeopardy level if he cocks up makes me squirm), ortega, Harland, Foden, mahrez, Alvarez(but it’s coming)
hmm: Walker, Phillips, Gomez

in short that looks like a squad totally at ease on the ball. Here’s hoping for a performance like against Bayern not Leicester!

Any win would be a massive result for us, doesn't matter if it's 0-1 or 5-6, the away goals are irrelevant now. I think we need a win to put the pressure on them for our home leg.

Im stating the bleeding obvious but a loss or draw for us in the 1st leg makes it ideal for them, they would love to come to the Etihad & just sit back all game and hit us on the counter, they love those sorts of games.
We get a win out there, even a 1-0 and it changes everything for the return leg. They would still keep it tight but when they eventually have to open up and start chasing a goal we can then pick them off.
Like i said, stating the bleeding obvious

All respect to the giant Madrid is but honestly believe we can beat them at the Bernabeu by two clear goals IF we take our chances, because we will create a TON of chances againts this team. They are not a better possession based team than Bayern Munich, what they are is ruthless in the final third and quick to capitalize on mistakes. They dont even press!

Miltao their best CB is suspended meaning Rudiger and Alaba will start. Rudiger is good in a back three but very suspect in a back two, Haaland has to play on him.

They've mastered the way to play in these knockout games, they dont overcommit players, its attack and defence, you will not see Camavinga and Carvahal overlapping, rather they will cross from the byline, Camavinga however is class, he will drift inside and play intricate, he can link up with Modric, Valverde and Benzema, in my opinion he is thier major threat alongside Vini and Benzema, thankfully for us he's playing as a LB and not CM.

I’d take a draw/1 goal loss on Tuesday and trust ourselves at home. Madrid’s front 3 are staggering really but then I do think we’ll control the midfield and have more than enough to make their defence struggle too.

oh and we don’t have to worry about casemiro getting away with murder on the pitch this time
Remember the 1st half chance Bernardo had on his right foot? He managed to get off a shot but Casemiro almost snapped his leg in half, should have been a penalty in retrospect but the referee was bought, no wonder Pep had a go at him at FT after B.Dortmund.

Modric & Kroos are great footballers but have a lack of pace so we need to starve them of the ball. Gundogan is of similar ilk for us but with him playing 90 minutes yesterday I'd expect him to be on the bench. Shift kev over to lcm have Berny rcm & play Phil rw so Walker will have cover against Vinicius.

Eddy
Walker Stones Dias Ake
Rodri
Bernardo KDB
Foden Grealish
Haaland

Foden just had his 1st start in 6 weeks and was rusty. Gundogan played in both games vs Bayern for a reason. He will probably start again.
