I hope you are right but I'm afraid that's a bit simplistic. They have several top talents who are better now than last season: Vin Jr, Rodrygo, Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Militao...The older players may be a bit worse, but the younger players showed they could be great by beating Liverpool 5:2 and Barcelona 4:0, at their grounds at that. Should not be taken lightly at all.
Liverpool and Barca are shit though

Would appreciate any update pictures of the redeveloped Bernabéu Stadium. Thanks.

Tough game tomorrow. These are no mugs and when it comes to this comp they can turn it on. I fancy us over the 2 legs though. Haaland will be hyped for this. High scoring again I think.

Squad that travelled to Madrid in squad number order;

Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Kalvin Phillips, John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Aymeric Laporte, Rodrigo, Stefan Ortega Moreno, Kevin De Bruyne, Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Gomez, Manuel Akanji, Riyad Mahrez, Ederson, Scott Carson, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis
A million sphincter muscles just failed in Madrid.

On my way to Madrid now.
Let’s give Madrid their dues.
They beat us last year because they were the better team. No need for any excuses.
Let’s hope we can beat them this year.
That’s probably the ever worst take on last years semi final,we were by far the better team in 95% of the tie. If we were to repeat this again I’m confident that we will see it through.

Last year we should’ve been out of side in the first leg. Even in the first half. The return leg was ours up until the last 3-4 minutes. It was just weird and totally against what was clearly the best team over 180plus minutes.

I expect us to be better than last year and more ruthless. Haaland hopefully on top I fancy us to get to the final. Probably even more than last year. Real is a strange team in the CL. Getting back from losing positions isn’t a coincidence anymore. With that knowledge I’m very confident we will be the better over two legs.

a rag text me before warning me we may not win anything this year.they are shitting it
I’d say to that, ‘so fucking what?’ if we don’t.

I mean seriously, the sun will still come up in the morning, and there’s no club or set of supporters in the world who would swap places with us over the last 10 years.

I rather be worse in those legs, but advancing than being better and getting eliminated yet again…

Fanny wipe take on things again.
City are better than last season, aren't we?
Militao is fuckin' suspended - keep up, FFS - massive plus for us.

Real Madrid away in a CL semi is arguably the hardest away game in world football, but we are in great form and I think we have every chance of getting a result. With that said, we need a top performance to do so.
With Ake out I think the same XI we had against Arsenal is very possible.

Ederson
Walker-Stones-Dias-Akanji
Rodri-Gundogan
Bernardo-KDB-Grealish
Haaland

1-3 City!

Stupid take on my post again.

I predicted 3:1 win for us in this thread.

Only because we have an exceptional team, not because Real are worse in the CL than last season. They shouldn't be taken lightly. Would be stupid to do so.

Think it will be a cagey first half and we will have a go at them 2nd half. Hopefully come back with a couple of goal lead but I think 1-2

A similar performance to the Bayern home game in the QF would be welcome tomorrow , defend well as a team and take our chances. Their front 3 are very dangerous, but defensively Madrid will give you chances.

Viniscus is their main threat, hopefully Walker can keep him quiet.

I agree. That's our best starting XI. Just push Gundo up with the others and Stones pushes up to DM
