Real Madrid (A) | Post Match Thread

SSN now getting into gear about the ball being out of play.

We are by far the most hated club in world football.

Fucking love it.
But why do they know the rules? Madrid had the ball after that and they lost it and we scored, so it doesn't matter if the ball was out of play before or not.

Overall we got to be happy with the result. Sure we can play better going forward but this is Madrid at home. We suffered and hung in at times but to their credit did not wilt. Past years we would not have been able to hold on. Also we created plenty of chances to score especially 1st half. I would have loved to have wiped the floor with Madrid but it just ain’t possible at this stage of the tournament.

The result will mean nothing if we don’t deliver at home. HT in the tie with it all to play for. We can get through. Blue wall of noise will help.

So not the best result or performance in the world but still not bad either. Effective without being spectacular going forward.

Rodri was unreal and Eddie came up with big saves.

Let’s do Everton now and set us up nicely for Wednesday.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to BT Sport: " When we were better they score. When they were better we score. Tight, tight game. The Bernabeu in the semi-final, sometimes we had good moments and sometimes it was difficult with the quality they have on the ball. Final next Wednesday at home with our people.
"We started really well in second half as well and then after they got the game we could not take it. They play a lot of passes on the left and they are really good there but then we score a fantastic goal through Kevin [De Bruyne] and had good moments and then at the end they had a few good chances.
"They are so demanding, with the experience and quality. We are travelling to Manchester and we will see what we can do better.
"When you play this kind of game it is like a play-off, so hopefully we can learn, defend better and attack better."
On Erling Haaland's performance: "The pockets and distances between the central defender and full-backs was occupied. It was not easy for Erling. He moved well and had his chances."

Honestly, a really average performance from us. Even with all that we were slightly better than them. We cannot play Bernardo again next week. He is just physically bullied by Camavinga, and slow us down too much. Madrid style is just not for him
Really??
A draw away to the most successful team in European football having by en large bossed the game.
Average?!?!
Give your head a wobble fella.
That was a quality performance.

Thought those last 5 minutes plus injury time felt big.

When you knew if they scored 2-1 would not been an awful result by any stretch, but wouldn’t have been a frustrating result.

I would have spent the next 8 days thinking I’d have felt much more confident if we had not conceded at the end.
the last 5 minutes last season has scared us for life

Utterly disgusting from BT sport here. Humphrey is a shite host anyway but outwardly posting this shit

Wio acting the big man, Joleon should chin him.

Let’s not forget that when Wio did a bit of boxercise and was deluded enough to think he could have a real fight the British Boxing Board of Control wouldn’t grant him a license on the grounds that he was unable to defend himself satisfactorily.

The same Board granted ex cricket chubbster Andrew Flintoff a license to fight
