Here we go. Reported in the Fail. With unoffical, untested unproven and inconclusive in-house technology BeIN Sports have declared that the ball went out of play before City's equaliser. Overlooking of course that Madrid regained possession but lost it again in the second phase.

Non story!
The goal was allowed to stand because the attacking phase of play (APP) was reset when Camavinga gave the ball away with a poor pass under no pressure after the ball may have gone out of play. Anything before that pass isn't valid for a review.

I wonder how Jordan talks about our ownership when he is in private company. About 15 years ago I used to spend a lot of my time in North West business circles. It meant I got to meet a lot of senior Directors at football clubs. The level of racism (and anti-semitism) was shocking. I grew up in the 60s and 70s in South Manchester (Withington) which was quite a diverse area and very racially tolerant, especially compared to other areas. Bernard Manning would not have been out of place in some of those football boardrooms. And this was between 2002 and 2011 not the 1970s.
I think it's just blind ignorance on the part of many. What people don't know they often fear. A nice white face speaking English (even with an American or European accent) is seen as something safe and comforting to many old skool business and media folk, whereas a hint of anything exotic such as a brown face or middle eastern accent instantly conjours up doubt and fear. There is a long standing prejudice in this country of 'arabs' who are often viewed as untrustworthy or obscene when it comes to spending wealth, with a view that they aren't business people but rather unscrupulous characters that literally just hold the world ransom to barrels of oil.

The other aspect is that people like Jordan, who think that they are so intelligent (and might well be), are just as gullible as Joe Bloggs in swallowing the pro united/liverpool/arsenal/barca/real/bayern/etc propaganda, driven by decades of media agendas that somehow depict those clubs as honourable and any threats to them as dishonourable

Is the correct answer!....well said mate and a little research by these so-called journalists would show why. Here's what it says on the Premier League's own website about the Attacking Phase of Play and VAR decisions (which I presume is in sync with UEFA's similar guidelines):

"The starting point for a phase of play that leads to a goal or penalty incident will be limited to the immediate phase and not necessarily go back to when the attacking team gained possession. Other factors for consideration will be the ability of the defence to reset and the momentum of the attack."

That took me about 5 secs to find that. If I can find it anyone can!

There's two things to observe there...(1) the phase of play leading up to the goal which will be reviewed is limited to the immediate phase - so that rules out going back to check the throw in; and (2) the ability of the defence to reset....which they did as RM had the ball and attempted a pass.

As you say, a non-story.

Far from it from me to defend Wio (hes a cnut we know) but im not too arsed about him celebrating their goal, there was footage of him celebrating a few spurs goals on their run to the final a few years ago. there maybe footage of him celebrating Kevs goal for all we know??
But we all know deep down that him and ratface and co cant wait for us to fail this season as their treble is on the line.

These are blue legends you two are disrespecting ffs. The problem isn't with our ex players not being biased enough towards us, it's the media channels for selecting opposing ex players and encouraging them to behave the way they do when we play. Two wrongs don't make a right
I disagree. Don’t expect any pundits to be biased, but just want them to give honest opinions. I have heard Richards giving his opinion and then get bullied into changing his views by Carragher and Shearer on a number of occasions. Nobody is saying that they weren’t good servants for City but perhaps they are not good enough to be pundits. Nedum is very good in that he can give an opinion and argue his case rather than just submitting to pressure from others.

People with brains understand how it works, unfortunately the DM isn't targeted at that demographic.

Agreed.

And a corker of a quote from our good friend Simon Jordan over at talksport. The same line (right or wrong) could be applied to pretty much every Premier League side, so, as you say, the motivation behind his view has to be driven by something else. The rags are every bit American as we are Abu Dhabi and yet the media narrative is still that they are a great British institution whilst we are some sort of sold out foreign company masquerading as a local club.
So Jordan is ignoring the fact we are 20%+ owned by US investors!

Just listening to that 'scouse' loving presenter, Rick Edwards (from Cambridge!!!), on on 5live.
He was talking about the two goals. And guess which one he thought was the better strike????????????

Now personally I couldn't give a stuff, but they could at least try and not brainwash the listeners with their bias and hatred.
Acting impartially, I thought the Madrid goal was more spectacular, but I got way more enjoyment out of Kevs. I have more of a grouse with someone on espn, who claimed the Vinicius goal was better because it was on his weaker foot.

Even it did go further back, as Wenger said when asked - VAR doesn't monitor sidelines, just the goalline and so wouldn't be able to review it.

If we win the treble we will have to get more than 90 points with close to 100 PL goals. We haven't conceded any goals in the FA Cup so far and will have to defeat our closest rivals in the final. So far we are unbeaten in the CL, have conceded just two goals, and are the highest scorers in the competition. In fact in all competitions we are the highest scorers in Europe. To win the CL we will have beaten Borussia Dortmund, Seville, Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and one of the Milan giants in the final. This season have scored four or more goals in matches against Arsenal, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Spurs, three against Bayern Munich and seven against RB Leipzig.
We will have won the treble by scoring more goals, conceding less goals, winning more matches, achieving more league points (in a treble season) than any team ever.
If we achieve this we will be the greatest English team in football history. But large elements of the English press and broadcast media will continue to demean and disrespect our club because they are incapable of being impartial and fair. Some of who this negativity is driven by commercial motives but some of it has been driven by racism towards our owner. This is still the large elephant in the room in the UK media. That's why certain national radio pundits can make statements (just yesterday) like: "The only thing English about City is their location," and remain unpunished.
Spot on, very well put.
Who the hell said this "The only thing English about City is their location",

SSN this morning. We’ve had an inquest as to whether City’s goal should have stood, because the ball “appeared to go out of play” (it didn’t ‘appear’ to have done anything of the sort of course, because the only available camera angle was utterly inconclusive), an examination of Erling Haaland’s “quiet night” and 21 touches of the ball, and then a snippet about Alfie Haaland’s “embarrassing” altercation with Madrid fans inside the ground. Twunts
Was it Sterling who set up a cross for an Aguero goal at Wembley and had it chalked off because the liner who was nearer the halfway line than the corner flag said it was out.

That's what I don't get, why aren't the media taking the piss of carlo for not knowing it doesn't matter if the ball was 1mm in play or a metre out it was a new passage of play and could never be reviewed anyhow.

I wasn't there last night but have been there previously and found it much quieter than most other Spanish stadiums. I also know that Atleti fans mock Real fans for their lack of atmosphere. The Camp Nou is another myth in terms of atmosphere. Literally packed with tourists. On the other hand Seville was a cauldron of noise.
I met more Dutch tourists supporting Madrid than Spaniards. In fact outside the ground the only Spaniards I saw were trying to sell cheap Madrid tat to City supporters and looking confused when no one would buy it.
