Bookies slash odds on Penny Mordaunt being next Tory leader

Penny Mordaunt "stole the show" today when she made history as the first woman to carry and present the Jewelled Sword of Offering and now bookies have said the spike in popularity may help her chances to replace Rishi Sunak as Tory leader.

So reading today 5.2 million people claiming benefits and yet over a million job vacancies at the moment?
That is unbelievable, some people genuinely need to be helped I get that but none the less why is it these jobs are not being filled?

Three things to consider;

1: How many of those positions stipulate qualified and experienced staff? Cough... cough.... nurses, doctors.

2: How many of the 5.2 million are working 40 odd hours a week anyway? Claiming a benefit does not neccessarily mean "unemployed". It hasn't done so for a very long time, working family tax credits and so on (plus other measures without which we as a country wouldn't have survived or tolerated the zero hours economy).

3: Lastly... the horrible truth is healthcare in this country has very obviously failed dismally over the last three years, and the upshot is the UK having more people than ever unable to work because they are suffering a medium/long-term condition.

Looks like it's the latest invention of an internal pressure group of Johnsonites - the Conservative Democracy Organisation! - who are about to have a conference where they will stand up and abuse Sunak and laud the fat liar.

It's even reported that MadNads has given up her Eurovision ticket to speak/rant. I can't imagine she'd get a great reception in Liverpool

Good points but you can't get away from the facts that a lot of brits are work shy who sponge off the state at the tax payers expense, as its easier to live off benefits.
We have created a system where this is rhe case and it discourages work whilst the tax payer who flogs his / hers guts out and gets treated with contempt.
I heard a story last week from a colleague who told me 8 people applied for a warehouse job, agreed interviews and all of them no showed.
I genuinely think some people dont want to work and its about time the government had them doing something.
It's utterly disgraceful
